While it's a frequent issue, bad breath in pets should not be considered normal. Often, it's a sign of underlying health problems that need attention.
If you're used to your pet cuddling close to your face, you'll likely notice quickly if their breath becomes unpleasant!

Every pet is different when it comes to taking flea and worm medication. Some will happily eat a ham wrapped pill only to spit the pill out at the last minute, others will run a mile when the spot on arrives and some pets get very anxious going to the vet for an injection.

This is why not one treatment style fits all when it comes to parasite treatment.

With a choice of tablets, spot on treatments and a long lasting injection your vet will be able to help you decided which is best for your pet. Speak to us today for further advice.

Having your teeth brushed is a strange experience, and many pets will panic if it is not introduced slowly and gently.
It may take a month or two to reach a point of “proper brushing” – this is normal and nothing to worry about.

Anti-freeze contains a chemical called Ethylene Glycol, which has a sweet taste and smell that can attract cats— and dogs too. If they find it, they might try to lick or eat it, so always ensure the lid is tightly closed and store it somewhere completely out of your pet’s reach.

Signs of anti-freeze poisoning in cats include vomiting, tiredness, unsteadiness, seizures and difficulty breathing. Once consumed, Ethylene Glycol turns into calcium oxalate crystals, which can severely damage the kidneys and often prove fatal. If you think your cat may have ingested antifreeze, contact your vet immediately - it’s an emergency.

Dog ownership can be an incredibly rewarding experience.
From providing companionship to keeping us fit and active, there are many ways that dogs enrich our lives.

When considering introducing a dog to your family, it’s important to think about what you can offer a dog in return.

Taking some time to consider whether you can fully commit and cater to the needs of a dog, and choosing the right one, can help to set you up for a successful and happy relationship.

Do you have a large breed dog that meets this criteria? Head over to the Pet Blood Bank website and sign them up to be a life saver ♥️

New donor registrations have been really low recently, and we need to ensure we have enough blood in stock for any dog that needs it 😢

Could you help us to spread the word by sharing this post?

If your dog meets the following criteria, they could become a lifesaving blood donor and help other dogs in need:

🎂 Between 1 and 8 years old
⚖️ Weigh over 25kg
💪 Fit and healthy
🐶 Confident and enjoy meeting new people

Coming to a donation session takes only 45 minutes and each donation can help save up to four other dogs ❤️
