Tiptree Pet Food Bank

Tiptree Pet Foodbank is here to help with whatever I can. Primarily I get cat & dog food/items donated, but supporters are usually amazing at rallying if there is anything specific that someone needs 💜

There are a few stipulations to the work I do;

* I don't supply for kittens or puppies
* I don't supply for breeders
* Unless there is an extenuating circumstance, I do not supply for newly acquired animals

The idea behind the foodbank is to try & reduce the number of existing family pets from needing rescue help. Rescue groups are beyond crisis point currently & I want to try & prevent any further pressure on them.

The foodbank currently accepts monetary donations via a registered charity PAAW whilst I am getting help with reaching CIC status. The storage unit that I use is £90 per calendar month; on top of this I hope to build a fund that can be used to help purchase flea & wormer treatment via vet surgeries for any family that might need it. The aim would be to pay the vet directly for the regular treatments the pets use to ensure continuity.

The rent is due on the storage unit in the next few days, unfortunately there have been no further donations towards it 😞 the foodbank literally now relies on this storage, without it I will have to close down. I'm sadly not in a position to fund £90 a month myself alongside the other elements of running that I already cover.

Please share & consider donating towards the cost of our storage space 🙏 we need £90 per calendar month to secure the space, which is discounted massively.

The space is massively needed because where the food was previously stored isn't secure or rodent proof.

Once registered as a CIC we can apply for various funding streams to help cover costs

October's unit rent is due soon, any help would be utterly amazing 💜 having storage space is imperative for the food bank to continue running, but without help to cover the cost, the space will have to be given up 💔

I don't often use this platform to highlight negative but I feel this must be shared. Many of you know I have spiders as pets & follow many spider pages; unfortunately this one is run by someone who was convicted of neglect 😡
Please could I ask people to share so that nobody falls for her BS & purchases from her? She is blocking anybody who comments about her history on the page; please help make her FB famous 😡

It doesn't look like much BUT omg 😍😍😍 need to do some labels for things so that I can instantly know where it all is. And then figure out a proper inventory method to keep track of dates etc & what goes out.

I will be working on some leaflets to pop out in places; I am aware that many people do not use FB & I am worried that I may miss them as the winter draws in. If any business in the area feels they would be able to hold some leaflets, I would be so greatful. Similarly please feel free to direct anybody my way.

Although I am named Tiptree food bank I cover a huge part of Essex. I have families in Maldon, Tiptree, Witham, Kelvedon, Chelmsford, Braintree & beyond 💥

When a registered charity offers to help, you jump at the chance & grab it with all the hands 🤗 storage has been sourced. It is good, solid, secure storage on the yard I keep my horses - the YO has been amazing 💜

I am looking into becoming a CIC so that I can access funding. Secure storage on my yard has come available for very reasonable cost but as it stands I am unable to afford anything. Does anybody have any other fundraising ideas?

The foodbank has a handful of these tins, they're not the kind of food that I hand out being the lower calorie tins. Ia there anybody that feeds their dog this? Due to lack of space I simply cannot keep hold of foods that won't go out, so am offering them to anyone who can use them.

A donation to the foodbank would be appreciated but is absolutely not necessary 💜

🌟 Pets at Home summer food drive 🌟

We are going to focus on the Maldon store as trying to coordinate both stores is a logistical nightmare.

I am getting tee-shirts made with our information on, and am having leaflets made for tables. I also want some statistical information on tables too.

I'm in the process of making worry worms & worry octopuses (sp?) that people can take away - will help draw people to the table 🤭

I am going to put dates in the comments. If people can help on certain dates, please reply on the date. Even an hour manning the table will be a huge help. I have to send dates to the store so unfortunately people cannot just turn up.

Tiptree Pet Food Bank needs volunteers 🥰

Pets at Home are running a Summer Food Drive to encourage relationships between the food banks & the general public.

Between August 7th & August 28th I can have a stand at Chelmsford AND Maldon pets at home stores. The aim is to increase donations, raise awareness & just highlight what we do.

I unfortunately will not be able to attend both stores, every day. This is where volunteers would be super handy. I'm in the process of getting flyers printed, as well as cards to share our information & our donation points - if anybody feels they could man a table for an hour or so, it would be immensely appreciated 🥰
