♡ Using the food bank ♡
Tiptree Pet Food Bank operates slightly differently to some that are in existence; I don't set time frames on the help offered. People's circumstances change for a plethora of reasons & usually these circumstances aren't going to improve within two or three weeks. This means that if I only offered help once a month for two weeks, or set a limit to the number of visits allowed, pets would go hungry. So I don't.

However there are a few guidelines;

♡ unless your pet has an allergy, I am unable to be specific with what food is offered. Where possible I do try & be consistent with brands, to avoid any potential tummy upsets, but sometimes this just isn't possible

♡ unless your pet has veterinary needs specific to feeding, I offer quantities based on recommended daily feeding amounts

♡ any new family pets acquired within the last six months are not covered by the food bank. Unless you can show me that you acquired said pet in genuinely unavoidable circumstances - such as inheriting the pet from elderly parents - I will not allocate food for that particular pet. This sounds harsh, but I am here to help cover existing pets & stop animals being handed in to rescue. I am not here to cover animals purchased/adopted on a whim with the knowledge that you cannot afford to feed it. * other circumstances such as sudden illness or loss of job can also be exceptional. Please speak to me so I can help *

♡ I do not feed any pets under the age of six months. Again, this is because I cannot support families taking on animals - especially young animals - knowing that they will struggle to feed them. There are exceptional circumstances to this rule too

♡ where possible, I ask that you collect your food parcel. I am a one man band with a small team of volunteers who do not get paid for their help. Whilst they are happy to cover certain distances to collect/deliver, collections are encouraged

Regardless of any situation, all communication is kept confidential. Unless I feel that you or your animal is at risk, nobody will know that you have spoken to me. Before I pass details on to a volunteer, I will always check that you are happy with this.

Donations of food are always welcome, as well as cat litter, treats bedding & towels. Please make sure items are in usable condition.

🥰 as always, thank you for supporting the Tiptree Pet Food Bank. I have just over 30 families on the books currently, many of whom would have to give up their pets without food bank support 🥰

🎄 Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

The biggest of thank you's from the foodbank, which wouldn't exist without the support it receives, both locally & further afield. There was a time i feared it would have to close due to storage issues; now I have an individual unit that is perfect & the rent is covered until February's installment is due 🥰

Pets are so very important & i especially would be lost without mine. We have a wonderful variety, totaling roughly 54 in number 🙈 every single one of them brings value to mine & my family's lives & the ones that can be will be celebrated tomorrow with food & toys & just love. To know that the foodbank has been able to secure that feeling for other family pets this year is heart warming ❤️

Have a fabulous day celebrating however you do. To those of you working as I will be, stay safe & I hope people you encounter are kind to you!!

Our lovely volunteers will be manning the table this evening outside Revive Beauty Lounge 🧑‍🎄

We will have 2 raffles & treats for our canine visitors.

We will also have a bucket for any donations; your loose change would make the biggest difference to the food bank as we head into a very cold winter 🥶

We will also be able to accept food donations - I have been asked about this several times 💜

Don't forget its the Tiptree Christmas market this Thursday! We will have a table outside Revive Beauty Lounge where we will be running two raffles to raise funds.

One will be to win either a cat or dog Christmas hamper - perfect little treat from Santa Paws 🐾

The other will be a simple find a ticket ending in 0 or 5 to win a toy, treat or some yummy food for your furry friend. One special number will win a huge crocodile cuddly; we aren't responsible for the conflict this may cause between your children & your pets 😝😝

There will also be treats on hand for any canine friend that visits the market too 💜

I have 2 storage units, a keter shed & a fair amount of pet food to move from mine on Maypole Road to the storage unit at the yard on Grove Farm Road. I'm unable to drive currently thanks to some health issues sooo I was wondering if there was anybody with a large car or a van that wouldn't mind donating some time to transport everything 🙏

A huge thank you to Pet Food Bank Alliance - UK & Ireland & Inspired Pet Nutrition Limited for this insane pallet of pet food 🥰

This is roughly 600kg of food, believe both cat & dog. Thank you also to the driver for delivering it, I've got 2 sicky small people so was unable to get down. Driver left it safe for me.

Tomorrow's job is getting it all unpacked & up the stairs 😳 don't forget to drop me a message if you are in need of any help 💜💜

🥰 Good morning 🥰

I am looking for volunteers that would be willing to collect donations for me, both from the Pets at Home stores in Chelmsford & Maldon and also as they crop up locally.

Unfortunately yesterday I was told in no uncertain terms by my consultant that I am not to drive. The length of this could potentially extend up to a year 😒

I will be getting my bike sorted & then looking for a trailer attachment, but obviously Maldon & Chelmsford are a little beyond cycling 🤣

My ideal would be to have several volunteers on a Watsapp chat so that when donations crop up, a shout can go out & anybody who can collect can be given the address/info.

If anybody feels like they could be a part of this, please let me know. Unfortunately this also means that the ability to deliver is also affected; I am hoping to rally a few local places that would be happy to hold a parcel for collection. Obviously this would be done in the strictest confidence & without causing problems foe the collector.

This week my lovely friend Ellie from Abbey Boarding Kennels is coming to Essex. I'm hoping to be able to send her home with food, treats & blankets for the sanctuary & rescue dogs she has in her care.

Rescue is on its knees. Sanctuary spaces are few & far between & they need a lot of support. Ellie has taken dogs for me from this area & helped rehome them. Ellie also offered to take Bailey, the lovely older staff that was left behind when his owner Ian died.

If anybody has any blankets or food/treats they would like to donate towards Ellie's dogs, they would all love you forever ❤️
