So pleased for Tyler Bradshaw from Tiverton. Cat C course complete and passed with zero driver faults recorded. Great gold medal performance. Not sure myself or trainer Dave Dorrington could manage such a polished performance on horse back. But willing to give it a try. 👀 Static and Dynamic Observation Assessments! 👀

These are performed prior to the massage and usually in hand, although can be ridden, on a flat surface.

🐴 1. I like the observe the horse in its natural relaxed posture first, to allow me to see how they choose to stand. Then I will ask for a walk away, turn away from yourself, and a walk back. Followed by the same in trot. This will give me an idea of balance, movement through the body, range of Movement, tension through the back, and how they carry themselves.

🐴 2. I will also ask you to turn the horse on a tight circle around you, in both directions. This is to observe the way the horse crosses over or steps under behind and how they bend through the body.

🐴 3. Finally I may ask you to move your horse backwards, to demonstrate their ability to engage core, step under themselves and how their head carriage is during this process.

This all gives me an idea of the horse's way of going which is paramount when Massaging them.
