Ash Thomas Cattery We are a small family run purpose built cattery. Our priority is the care of the cats and to make sure their stay with us is relaxed and stress free.

Well established boarding cattery located in the village of Ash Thomas, near Tiverton in Devon. Situated in peaceful rural surroundings with purpose built accommodation. Owned and operated by the Rob and June Furmedge. June has a vast background in animal work, having 29 years experience in animal rescue. We are a small Cattery and therefore can provide personal individual care. Cats requiring spe

cial care and medication are very welcome. The Cattery is an older purpose built cattery offering indoor accommodation where each guest has a heated bed and is provided with a scratching pad.

Sadly we have another cat that needs a home. No fault of her own. She is a little shy but does warm up with patients. She is a 12 year old spayed tortoise and white who really needs to be on a diet as she has got a bit plump over the years. She has been a one owner cat for some while so would suit an older couple. No children or main roads Please. If interested contact us here at the cattery.

Update:- We are totally booked up for Christmas.

We respectable ASK that all customers check their cats vaccination card before booking with us. Vaccinations / cards are not our responsibility.

We do not enjoy having to refuse customers because their cat is unvaccinated or proof of vaccination is not provided.

We as a cattery do our best to remind customers to bring their cards with them.

We only need to see the card once a year once a cat/s have been revaccinated.

I can not believe I am saying this in August but we only have 4 pens left for Christmas Holiday.

Please take note.

As of June 10th 2024 all cats must be Micro chipped. Even our golden oldies must be chipped. If they are not you could get fined up to £500.

Kittens must be Micro chipped by the age of 20 weeks.

It seems funny that before the end of September I have to talk about Christmas but I am anyway.

We are fully booked for double pens and only have one single pen left for Christmas.

Please be aware. ( our Holiday dates).

Normally the cattery does not close during the year except for a few bank holidays. This is to let all our customers know we have decided after nearly 10 years of owning the cattery we need to take a break.

This is well in advance NOTICE.

We have decided that from the 22nd of September -1st of October 2023 we are going to hit the road and visit Scotland. All cats booked in in September 2023 must leave the cattery by the 20th Sept 2023 to allow us time to clean all pens ready for intake on the 3rd of October.

There will be an emergency only policy during this time which will be decided by us during the evenings of our holiday as family members will be on the property during this time allowing them a break to.

Thank you for all your custom we just need to recharge our batteries.

For information We have implemented Covid-19 procedures similar to the vets for drop-off and pick-ups.
- Once you arrive at the cattery please call us from your car and we will tell you what to do next. Please wear a mask.
- We regret that you can not come into the cattery to settle your cat/s down and we can not accept bedding and toys from home.
- Please bring your cat/s vaccination card/s with you.
- On picking up your cat/s please do the same and call from your car.
- Please note that we can not take cash or use our card machine. Remainder of bill can be paid before or on the day of pick up via online banking.
- We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we must protect ourselves and our customers too.

Please please make sure your cat/s vaccinations are administered no less than 2 weeks before entry, this includes boosters.

We do not want to refuse any cat/s but we do redeem the right to refuse entry if your cat has its vaccination after the 2 weeks or on the day of entry. This is to safe guard your cat and other boarders.

If your cat is not vaccinated on entry to reception we will not be able to board your cat.

Please do not get angry with us as vaccinations are you as the owners responsibility.

Please remember that your booking dates can not be changed at the last minute. We do try and accommodate for delays due to traffic and flight delays/ cancellations but this is not always possible. While we do understand you would like to pick your fur baby's up on the same day you are arriving home we do recommend you allow an extra day to travel.During our peak periods ( please see web site) we do have cats coming in and going out on the same day. I hope you understand we do try our best to accommodate all requests but this is not always possible. Thank you.
