Yesterday for a Arena Eventing session with 2 of my young riders Molly & Zak with their horses, one horse who needs lots of confidence, the other horse can be a bit gunhoe & try to take charge!
Great confidence giving lesson for horse & riders to work on various heights & skinnys with riding a course.
Well done to both for your achievements & riding yesterday & super confidence at the end! π π π π
Another one of my very dedicated young riders I teach, Molly & her ex-racehorse Copper. Molly has been riding with me for a few years now on a couple of other ponies, she took her previous pony as far as they wanted to go, so she has a lovely home doing hacking & fun rides with someone else now.
Having purchased Copper last autumn he was very inexperienced regarding schooling & jumping coloured Poles. So started off doing just poles on the ground back in the early spring, then he got the idea how he was suppose to jump a small cross pole & now several grid work sessions & jumping small courses building up to 60-70 cm later he's got the idea & understands what's required & he's really enjoying it!
Here's a session recently at Emmetts on Exmoor when it was wet! Where we were introducing fillers more but also had a couple of smaller jumps to keep his confidence if he got a bit worried. But he jumped the fillers no problem, such a little star! Great for Molly as a real promising young horse in the making for her to continue to train & compete.
Taught one of my young riders Zak tonight on his young very sensitive mare. This combination are coming along brilliantly, Zak has done very well to adjust his riding from his speedy experienced pony to this inexperienced but talented mare. Great to see this combination going well.
Up on Exmoor working yesterday, just had to take the cloud formations!
Last Sunday With Sheryl Higgins & Joey supporting them for their first show & show Jump. Joey was a star, Sheryl rode well & did a clear round & got a 6th rosette.
Great confidence boost for both of them!
Second half of there round, took some photos in first half, along with Rachel Fryer.
Well done Sheryl!!
Also at Emmetts today Molly & Copper. Copper is a very green 7 year old TB, who started off with alot of tension but using some suppling exercises he began to relax & show some much better work with a much softer outline. Very pleasing to watch him change through the lesson & produce some more encouraging work. Looking forward to watching him develop, well done Molly!
