Our Nurses Can... progress and diversify
Veterinary nurses who become more specialised in their area of interest may work in veterinary hospitals, universities or specialist referral centres. It’s often a fast-paced and demanding role where they perform advanced nursing techniques and help to deliver the most complex treatment plans.
Nurses also don’t just work in practice - there are wide ranging opportunities including teaching and academic research; management, sales and marketing roles in the veterinary or pharmaceutical industries, or diversifying into areas like physiotherapy and animal behaviour.

17 May - World Hypertension Day
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is common in older cats and dogs.
Where symptoms are shown, they are more likely due to an underlying disease process such as kidney disease, hyperthyroidism or heart disease.
For some patients, hypertension doesn’t have any symptoms until organ damage occurs. For this reason, we recommend annual routine blood pressure checks for cats and dogs over 7 years old.

Our Nurses Can... play a vital role in surgery
Behind every surgical procedure is a skilled veterinary nurse. It’s often a nurse that will admit your pet to the practice, and also discharge them safely home to you
at the end of the day.
From preparing patients and surgical equipment, closely monitoring anaesthesia and vital signs throughout an operation, to ensuring a safe and smooth recovery - nurses are an essential part of every surgical procedure we undertake. 🩺

Happy receptionist day!
This is our lovely receptionist Gina. Not only is she very caring and compassionate but she arguably has one of the hardest job roles within a vet practice.

Our vet reception staff work tirelessly answering the phones and trying to help with each and every query from staff and clients and always with big smiles on their faces!

Enjoy your day Gina and thanks for being a brilliant and very valued member of our team here at Tod 🥰

West Mount Vets TodmordenTemporary Closure
In order to continue providing the best urgent and emergency vet cover and routine health care for all our clients, we have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close our Todmorden branch from Friday 26th May 2023 until further notice.

This change does not affect our normal emergency out of hours service.

Todmorden

5.00pm on Friday 26th May.

We are contacting all Todmorden clients by either email or post.
The whole team are sad that we have had to make this decision after being a part of the community for many years. It has been a pleasure to get to know you all and care for your pets and we thank you for many happy memories from Todmorden.
