⭐Demo Riders Needed!⭐

In September we are running an exciting lecture demonstration day with Mark McGowan FEI Level 3 international course designer and Level 5 (Advanced) Course Designer.

The day will be a mixture of both theory and practical, with a very hands on approach to course design, helping you understand the mind of the course builder with the position of jumps in the arena, lines, distances and technicalities, as well as competition rules, tables and speeds.

We are looking for demo horse/pony and rider combinations during the afternoon (1pm - 4pm).
As a demo rider you are welcome to watch the other sessions. You are sure to learn a lot by getting involved!

We are open as normal today for lessons. However at the moment our lane has some snow drifts on so we wouldn’t recommend coming down it unless you are in 4x4.
It is currently melting quite fast so should be ok for tomorrow.

We would love for you to join us at this FREE Map My Hack event 🗺️

This is a great opportunity for equestrians who ride in the area to show us what routes they ride or would like to be able to ride. With this vital information, the BHS can then work with local authorities to ensure routes are considered in new developments and existing routes are maintained.
Come and be a part of improving access for equestrians in your area!

Unfortunately we have had quite a few clients book a lesson for when they return from holiday and not turn up. We can only assume/hope that with the chaos of the school holidays that people have forgotten.

If you haven’t been to your regular lesson over the last few weeks please call the office to ensure you are booked in before coming.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all clients of our cancellation policy ……….. less than 24 hours notice will be changed at half the lesson price and failure to turn up will be charged at full price. Cancellations can be made by telephoning the office and leaving a message if we don’t answer, texting or what’s apping the mobile or emailing the office.

Good day at the Great Yorkshire Show yesterday. Valepark Storytime 1st in the 2 & 3 year old Dartmoor Pony Class & Lobmill Spellbound 2nd in the yearling class. No pictures as we were too busy with the ponies but safe to say both ponies are happy to be in the field reunited with their field buddies.

At the moment access is from the Walsden end of Lumbutts Road only. No access up Woodhouse Road. We will try and keep you updated.

Please be aware that Lumbutts Road is being surfaced dressed on Saturday and Sunday. We are not entirely sure where it will be shut from but suspect it’s from the Walsden end so please allow extra time when coming for your lessons.

We have been made aware that the council are doing some resurfacing work on Lumbutts Road tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday. At present we are unsure of exactly where or what the access to us will be like so please allow extra time travelling to us.

Just a little reminder now things are starting to get back to normal after the festivities …………….
If you haven’t rebooked your lessons you have until this weekend to do so, after which any spaces will be allocated to our waiting list.
Also the hat standards have changed so we will be checking everyone’s hats again so please allow extra time at the start of your lesson.

We currently have a vacancy for a part time yard person(s). The hours are 8-10am and 3-5pm Tuesday to Friday. This can either be 1 person or 2 people (one doing morning the other afternoons). Duties to include mucking out, sweeping, catching, turning out, grooming and tacking up horses for lessons.

Look at the ears on Falco!!! 😍

Falco the mule has been staying with us for a few nights rest on his mammoth walk from Oxford to Loch Lomond with his owner Zoe. They are walking to raise money for Walk for Earth charity. We wish them both a safe onward journey.
