Here at TDS Riding Centre we work very hard to keep our horses in tip-top condition and also to keep on improving their schooling level so that you - our lovely clients - get to benefit from this.
Kia is one of our gorgeous schoolmistresses here, and is a lovely horse on which to do your first flying changes.
Behind the scenes, she has a programme which includes groundwork, polework and hacking to ensure that she stays loose, supple and strong.
In this short video clip, Clare is working with her to keep her changes tuned up and 'clean'.
Soon after you see Helen, who is an improving rider and first time horse owner, benefitting from Kia's experience and her kind gentle nature.
We had a great lesson today, which included ways for Helen to improve her lower leg stability (they are very long legs!), and her leg yields as well as a little fun with her very first flying change.

Do you remember Matilda (Tilly to her friends), my 'little' foal? She is nearly 2 now, and quite a bit bigger! She is beginning to build on the things she learned as a baby now, starting with the basic groundwork patterns from TRTmethod. Clare is teaching her lots, whilst I support Clare in learning more TRT skills.
This is honestly the best foundation for any young horse. Kind and ethical, it prepares her for all the things she has to know in the future.
Tilly is bold in character, and could soon get a bit above herself if we didn't teach her how to manage herself.
It's great to give her this start in life.
