🌟Equine Gastric Ulcers Special Offer🌟
Equine gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS) is becoming more common within the equine population and it is something we as vets are dealing with on a regular basis. It can present itself in a variety of different ways and your horse may show some or none of the most common symptoms. Luckily EGUS is very treatable and most horses make a full and successful recovery.
Is your horse showing any of these signs:
★ Crib biting/ windsucking
★ Poor performance
★ Weight loss/ill thrift
★ Biting or resistance when being brushed or girthed/tacked/rugged up
★ Changes in behaviour
★ Colic
★ Misbehaviour when ridden
★ Problems loading/poor traveller
If so they could be suffering from EGUS. Blackdown Equine are pleased to be offering a special offer on gastroscopes during the month of March, book your horse onto one of our scope days and receive £100 off the price of the initial scope!
Under standing sedation we pass a special 3m long endoscope (camera), which is linked to a screen where we can visualise the inside on the horses’ stomach. Please call the office for further info 01626 824600.

Do you think your horse might be suffering from ulcers? Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome is more common than you think and can often be extremely painful for our companions despite them often showing little or no sign of there being a problem, they just grin and bare it!
That's why this Christmas we are offering your horse the chance to be pain free again with a FREE gastroscopic examination to see if your horse could have ulcers. We are very fortunate to have a fantastic gastroscope (a long movable camera) to allow us to look inside your horse's stomach and check for ulcers. If you would like to bring your horse to us for a free* gastroscopic examination please call the office on 01626 824 600.

Watch out Laminitis About!
Please keep a close eye on your horses and ponies as the lovely weather followed by this (not so lovely) rain is perfect for making grass grow! Please be sensible and regulate your grazing as the flush of grass could also lead to colic. If you have any concerns please contact the office on 01626 824 600 where Kevin or Thomas will be happy to help.
