1st Dam Kim Tian Road placed in a NH Flat race, winner of 2 races over hurdles and placed. Highest official rating 120 over hurdles. Own sister to the useful 5 time winner Saunders Road.

Hi everyone just a quick update from here at Knaves Ash. All is good, the two filly foals by Linda's Lad out of Narla and Detroit Red are thriving, both nice big strong types. They are also the best handled youngsters ever seen at K/Ash as Matt has been in daily and between us we have done lots of work with them. Today was the first time we were able to lead in and out with one in each hand we can also pick up feet without alarm! Our Schiaparelli 3 year old out of Kim Tian Road will come home this week having cantered upsides others and schooled over small jumps nicely. Our 2 year old out Kim is driven in long reins and lunged at Pat and Clare's and they are very pleased with her. Lastly Matt continues his work with F S Lola she is so strong and is now doing some flat work in the sand school supervised by Rachel and will have a lesson this week with Rachel's dressage teacher Nate. This type of work is improving her core strength which will be a big asset on her return to the track. Taking of which we are forming a syndicate to run Lola and are actively looking for folks to come on board. There has been a change to the Mares Only Prize Scheme which has now morphed into the Great British Bonus initiative with massive bonuses doubled to 20k (£13K TO RACING OWNERS!) for winning mares only bumpers, novice hurdles and chases! This is a massive carrot to own and race fillies and only applies to British bred mares/fillies and is in addition to any race prize money won. Basically one win in a qualifying race would cover a seasons expenses. Please give this some thought this mare has proven ability from her bumper runs.We only need a further 7 people to sign up and you don't even part with money to buy the horse we will lease her to the syndicate. Hi everyone. Just a line to let you know Lola (F S Lola) is back in work. She picked up an injury whilst out on lease after we stopped training but has had a proper break to get over it and having scanned clean is ready to resume her promising career. We are looking to set up ownership in her (with no capital out lay to partners) so if this is of interest please do get in touch.she is a lovely big strong mare and having schooled well over jumps in the past hurdles and then fences should be no problem to her. Hi everyone it's a blast from the past as Martin Hill Racing comes out of hibernation. We hope that all our old friends are keeping safe and well under the extraordinary circumstances we all find ourselves in.Here at Knaves Ash the horses and small breeding operation is keeping us quite busy during our enforced isolation. We have two new arrivals so far this year you could have bet that both would be fillies (which they are) .it must be something in the water here! We do still have one more chance of a c**t as the well related Narla is close to her due date also.However we cannot complain as both the fillies on the ground are correct and bouncing with good health and energy, you get tired just watching them.One is by Linda's Lad out of Bubbles (Detroit Red) bay dad, bay mum equals chestnut filly foal. Our second is by Scorpion out of Dottie (Semi Colon) the bigger of the two and bay.With things uncertain at present we have decided to rest the mares so they will not be covered this year. Maybe a trip to France or Ireland will be on the cards for them!!
Bringing you up to date last year we had a Jack Hobbs c**t out of Dottie who is now a cracking yearling (due to become a gelding tomorrow-poor chap) he is as good as anything we have ever bred. Also a yearling is Kim Tian Road's lovely filly by Schiaparelli who is full sister to a three year old filly we have just sent to Jimmy Frost to break .She has been lunged and long reined as a two year old by Claire Arden and Patrick Cooper last summer.
In the two year old category we has Detroit Red's classy little filly by telescope and Kim's big Scorpion filly who will both go to visit Clare and Patrick soon.
We are awaiting Dottie's lovely big Kayf Tara gelding, now a four year old,to run but he is in training in a top Irish pointing yard and obviously can not now run until racing resumes for that sphere in the autumn.
Unfortunately Kim cannot breed any more beautiful foals as the sarcoids she has suffered with all her life have now invaded her udder area making raising a foal impossible for her.This is such a shame as her first offspring, now five and called Singapore Saga (in training with Phillip Hobbs) has shown lots of ability and is surely a winner waiting to happen this autumn.
Talking of Mr Hobbs he has been back this year and bought our other gorgeous three year old filly (by Midnight Legend out of Dottie), she goes to him in May.
The only one yet to get a mention is dear F S Lola who showed enormous promise as a four year old for us in our last season training. She then went to another trainer on lease and picked up an injury. We have given her a full eighteen months off and,subject to a clean scan of her leg she will return to work with an autumn/winter campaign in mind. If all goes well I may form a partnership to run her. If this is of any interest to you please do get in touch.
The other development here is the emergence of Granite (Rachel's lovely Hunter) as a force on the dressage scene, we can't move here for big cups and rosettes, she really is a star turn all rounder.

This is Rod Lucas and Debs new business. Rod is the very best person to transport your horse. He was the only person for us who could transport our lovely Robin des Champs mare with a Kayf Tara foal at foot to be covered by Midnight Legend as a walk-in - the last year he covered mares. All came home safe and sound and the mare in foal.

Horse Transport throughout UK, Ireland and Europe. Full public liability, care custody and control.
