Barnard Schooling and Holiday Livery

Where do we start !!
I can’t thank towcester equine vets enough for everything they have done for Josh’s treatment.
And to mad horse transport for fitting me in at such short notice !!

Equine Reccurent Uveitis is more common than I originally thought I had never really thought of it before until a couple of years ago josh started getting it every year around October time and no other times between.

This October was very different first treatment seemed to work for around a week 10days until he kept getting flare ups weekly to then every other day. The decision was made to have his eye removed to stop his pain and discomfort so his operation went well today and hopefully he will be home tomorrow lunchtime to continue his rehab.

Luckily we think Josh’s was caused from trauma at some point so keeping 🤞🏻 he doesn’t develop it in his other eye !!

Hopefully he’ll be returning to his old self like the last picture in no time 🤞🏻

Keep checking those eyes.

I’m a bit useless at posting these days. A few updates from the last few weeks. Dylan enjoying floyd and sat on Tink for 5 mins who’s back in work after being lightly backed last year. Cavani had her first roller on she’s a late 3 year old so it’s all still groundwork this year. Lillie and josh have been going well a couple of ride/leads in and not that clear pictures of Lillie schooling she’s slowly getting the hang of flying changes. Plenty of holiday covers inbetween which dates are getting booked up so if your looking at going away and need help then please do ask and I’ll see what I have available or if I can fit you in as well ☺️ 🐴

Love watching these 2 play. After a fairly busy few months with work Tink will be coming back into work after being started last year at the end of this month. He may possibly be looking for a little rider but must be confident as he can be nervy. Dylan has been lead around on him last year and was good as gold but I have no idea what he would be like off the lead with a small jockey. If anyone is looking please PM me or the page and I can keep your name and number until he’s ready and go from there

Hope everyone is getting through winter slowly !! It was a wolf teeth extraction kind of morning today. Both Tink and cavani were excellent patients 1 wolf tooth for Tink which came out pretty easily and cavani had 2 with slightly more of a fight but didn’t take too long for her.
I can’t thank Gemma English Equine Dental Services enough for recommending The Equine Dental Surgery highly recommend them

While we are ending on a laugh unfortunately we will no longer be offering full livery however we will still be available for holiday/schooling/sales and youngstock livery given the space, so if your thinking of any of these packages please do get in touch. I am still available for any freelance work which i get booked up pretty quickly with so if you need a hand with holiday covers etc next year then book in quick although I am full for February already. from house sitting/ general yard work while your away etc🐴

These 2 just keep surprising me every time something is asked of them. This morning it was dentist day. This time last year we couldn’t even get near them to catch let alone get teeth done 🤦‍♀️
Both of them were excellent for their first time although both need wolf teeth taken out 🙈 it’s been a lot of firsts for the last few weeks for little Tink as well from having a saddle on to having a rider on taking it all in his stride. He will continue his education for another 6 weeks with us and have the winter off. I couldn’t be more proud of where these 2 have come today. Can never thank Gemma English Equine Dental Services enough for all she does !!

Cavani is a 2 year old chestnut mare. Sports horse type to make 15/15.1.

She has wintered out well with 3 others (mares and gelding) is also happy stabled if needed.

Cavani happily ties up, catch, excellent in hand, good to wash off, bath, farrier. Has recently been wormed.

She has a lovely temperament and not mareish at all. She would make a super little horse for someone to get to know for the next year while she matures and grows ready to start next autumn time. She just takes everything in her stride.

Happy to keep her here with us on youngstock livery if needed as she is just so easy to do. Based nn12

From March onwards we will be offering holiday livery again.
From a few nights to a few weeks or longer. If you need your horse ticked over while your away we are happy to exercise him/her for you from hacking, schooling, jumping, lunging etc.

Livery will include twice daily checks, either stable during the night/day or 24/7 turnout, hay, bedding and water checks. Rugs/groomed and feet picked. Trailer parking if needed.

Also available from March schooling livery and sales. Please feel free to message us for more info
