We offer one-to-one consultations in person or on line to address problem behaviours, initially forming a management plan to keep you all safe whilst you and your pet are learning. Sometimes, this means safe from harm, but more often, safe from learning things which may later be a problem to either you or your pet. Next we make a plan for the future which we then help you to implement by teaching the various individual skills you and your pet need to coexist happily and healthily. We offer individual training with your pet at our premises, or in their normal environment (it could be at your home or on a walk, depending on what behaviours we are training). We have the facilities to practise skills in the presence of other animals (usually dogs) safely at a distance your dog is comfortable with. We can also now offer residential training for you and your dog together.

How inspirational is Kane, not only will he be climbing the 3 peaks in Wales but walking 200km to each peak! 🤯🥰
All in aid of Hero paws - Life AFTER service who are an amazing charity raising money to rehome ex-military/working dogs after their service just like him 🐕

Peaks For Paws

Kane has mild Hip Dysplasia (HD) so he's on a special diet containing lots of collagen, Essential Fatty Acids such as Omega 3 and other nutrients to keep his bones, joints, ligaments and tendons strong. He does his home physio, has Galen Myotherapy and regular exercise not involving sudden twists and turns.

This is vital if he's to accompany Pat for some of the 200km speed march across Wales in 3 weeks time.

Kane's Mum, Suzie, is in charge of managing Kane's diet. Along with yummy Paleo Ridge Raw Dog Food classic range and their Berry Good supplement, Suzie also makes frozen paw shapes of turmeric, blueberry and coconut oil. She pops in a variety of chicken feet, sprats and eggs - depending on what is available.

He also has some blended green veggies, and a live yoghurt garnish and a sprinkle of Hedgerow Hounds Nature's Bounty for herbal support.

No wonder he's keen to tuck in! The plan is to make sure he's in tippity-top condition to join Pat on some of the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge. Current planning suggests that daylight, and weather may prevent Kane from doing Cadair Idris, but he'll be by Pat's side for the other two peaks and some of the way on the road.

The Peaks For Paws team is not looking forward to packing the van with all the food needed for both Pat and Kane - that's another challenge!!

PS Just in case you're worried. Kane has been assessed by professionals and steady distance work with walking and steady trotting is part of his management. The HD is mild and not severe enough to warrant concern about him doing some of this challenge with his Dad. Of course, any sign of concern and he'll be popped into the van and checked out.

Our Holistic Therapy Toolkit webinar is specifically for all animals, including cats, who have been or whom you are considering rescuing - however, it is appropriate for anyone who is managing any animal with behavour challenges.

Holistic vet Chris Aukland and vet nurse and animal behaviourist Morag Sutherland believe there is so much a holistic approach can offer rescue animals and their families - in particular species appropriate diet, homeopathy, herbal medicine and behaviour management.
