HOT WEATHER WARNING
It’s showing hot weather for tomorrow (Friday) Please be safe and consider rescheduling your appointment if you have one booked for the middle of the day. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to reschedule if you find yourself outside the timeframe for doing it online. There is no penalty for changing appointments due to hot weather. Better not to chance it. We just want everyone to stay safe. Remember not dog ever died from missing a walk. Early morning and evening appointments are available. Be sensible people x

Anyone who has bookings for Monday and Tuesday next week may want to reschedule their appointments for another day or stick to early morning or evening time slots if the reported forecast proves to be correct 🥵. These temperatures can be deadly for dogs. Please remember no dog every died from missing a walk. Be aware of signs of heatstroke and be sensible people 👍

Alive but injured. After 12 days Freddie was found. He sustained a nasty injury for which hes had surgery for yesterday. He should recover well although it will be a slow journey and he will always carry the scars from his ordeal but he’s alive and in good spirits and of course he’s family are so relieved Xx

Please share and help find Freddie. Miniature Schnauzer ran off from his dog walker in Moorends DN8. His family just want him back 🥲

** POLITE NOTICE **
We have noticed that the toys provided are being destroyed literally in a matter of days. Throwing toys and tennis balls are being chewed to pieces almost as quickly as we replace them. The relentless toy distraction is one thing but the leaving the chewed and broken toys and bits of tennis balls on the field is not acceptable. These can pose a choking hazard to young dog and dogs with issues of swallowing foreign objects. We have already posted to asked people not to let their dogs destroy the toys we provide or if they happen to accidentally rip up a ball etc (as we all know it can happen 😅) that could people please put any broken or damaged toys in the bin as technically it’s then rubbish that’s littering the field.
Unfortunately this behaviour is still occurring on a regular basis and we have no option but to remove all toys/balls etc. and whilst people are welcome to bring their own toys with them when bringing their dogs please make sure you take all your items home with you again. If this action doesn’t not stop the littering of discarded toys and ball pieces all over the field we will be taking further measures. The majority of our field users are respectful and mindful of other clients and their dogs and it’s a shame that the minority are causing an issue that affects everyone else. SO PLEASE TAKE ALL TOYS HOME AND BIN ALL RUBBISH (and that includes broken toys/balls) x

If you see any broken toys/bits of toys during your appointment can you please let us know immediately please x

** IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT **

We have fenced off a part of the thistle hill beside the car park to stop the dogs from trying to climb the hill as there are nesting birds in the thick undergrowth. Please discourage your dog from the hill, it is prickly and thick with thistles and not somewhere they would naturally want to go anyway but curiosity may get the better of them. Please do not disturb the fencing used to cordoned off that section and do not throw any toys/objects into/over the hill.

So many of you may have noticed that the field has been more like a meadow in the past fortnight. Whilst it’s been beautiful for photos it has been very stressful for us 😅. We don’t like the grass to get so long as it leaves it messy when it’s been cut and also very difficult for everyone to find their dogs poos 🫣… technical difficulties (well actually hydraulic difficulties) meant the mower has been out of action. We were lucky enough to find a man with a machine capable of cutting it for us until normal service resumes (would highly recommend him if anyone had a large area to cut) 😉 so the next few days there will be a lot of grass cuttings in the field but it should be all sorted next week 😊 here’s some pics of pooches enjoying the summer meadow vibe before the field received it’s overdue chopping! 🤩

We are at the Phoenix French Bulldog Rescue charity dog show today in Billingham. Luckily it’s an indoor venue so the weather is not an issue. Can’t wait to see the all the dogs in the fun dog show 😍

Perhaps the only thing better than a puppy visit is a Saluki Puppy Visit 🥰 I got to spend the morning with these almost week old pups and their super proud Mum 😍 Absolutely in love 😘

Is there no end to the rain??? ☔️😫😫😫… I know we are lucky that the field is fast draining and dries after a day or so without rain but whilst it’s raining like this is will be a mud bath. Sensible waterproof shoes/clothing and avoid the high traffic muddy areas if possible. We leave a brolly in the summerhouse if your caught out by a heavy downpour x

The field is as wet as I have ever seen it. Reschedule if your not up for the puddles and the mud. Swerve the summer house, bench and water tap. These are currently all water features 🤦‍♀️

*RAIN* *MUD* *MORE RAIN* *🤦‍♀️*
I believe it’s another yellow rain warning until tomorrow. The ground is very wet and very muddy in the high traffic areas due the amount of rain that’s fallen already. Wellies needed. Try to avoid the more mucky bits if you can 😅. I know the majority of the dogs don’t mind it but honestly I can’t wait to see the back of the rain ☔️ Iggle did not want to participate in the activities this morning and chose to wait it out in the van, this was the point I remembered the new seat covers were still in the box at home 🤣… but look at her wet little face. I just couldn’t say no 🤦‍♀️🥰

** SEVERE WINDS FORECAST **
There is a forecast for severe winds this evening 😣. Please make sure to check that all your gates and fences are secure after storms or high winds before letting your dogs out into your garden etc. So many dogs get out after storms from damage to fencing or gates having been blown open. Roll on the better weather 😅 Pic of piper for entertainment purposes as there isn’t a standard fence or gate that can contain her but that’s a story for another time 😂

The temperatures are dropping very low tonight and it looks as if it won’t get above freezing at all tomorrow 🥶🥶🥶

The ground is frozen and rock solid. Anyone with running dogs or fast dogs please consider the conditions and the possibility of rescheduling. Knocked toes are no joke for fast dogs with dainty feet 😅🤦‍♀️

If you have a dog who likes to totter and potter about and the ones with the big or hairy paws then that’s fine

Remember the water tap will be out of action until the thaw so please bring provisions 👍

Just an FYI post 😉 with a beautiful picture of Chilli the rescue cocker as she’s such a star ⭐️

* Please use the padlock provided to ensure the field is 100% secure during your appointment.

* Please do not allow your dogs to dig holes.. a little scrapping and rummaging is fine. If you discover a hole please let us know so we can sort it asap x

* If your dog destroys toys/tennis balls etc please can you dispose of them in the bin. They are technically rubbish once your dog has enjoyed the chewing and shredding of it 😅

* Please pick up your dogs p**p 💩 and place it in the bin. There are poo bags available if you find yourself without one. Most dogs usually toilet at the start of their visit but some (like Lenny 🤦‍♀️) like to go in ever corner or the field over the full 50mins 😂

* Please try not to arrive to early and also try to leave promptly at 10mins to the hour when you finish your allotted 50mins to avoid congestion in the lane. If you arrive early please park out of the way and wait until the previous appointment has finished and exited the field.

OutPaw Pursuits has been getting quite busy and all these little things help everything run smoothly and make for a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone x
