⚠️⚠️ Conker Hazards ⚠️⚠️

🍁🍂With the changing weather and autumn setting in some seasonal changes can bring some issues for our pets. While many dogs will ignore conkers, some dogs like to play with them or even try to eat them.

This can lead to some problems if they do ingest them.

⚠️ Blockages: although the nut is smooth and shiny, if swallowed, they can get lodged in the stomach or intestines. This can then require emergency surgical removal to clear the obstruction.

☠️ Poisoning: Conkers contain a chemical called aesculin, which is toxic to dogs if eaten.

What are the symptoms?

🍁Vomiting
🍁Diarrhoea
🍁Abdominal Pain

Speak to vet for more information regarding conkers and reducing the risks if they accidentally decide to eat them 📞
