Brilliant session with three lovely Whippets. We went to help with in-house aggression between one brother and the older dog and some resource guarding. Also, to work on engagement and resolving reactivity. They all did brilliantly on their first session, walking nicely on slips and all house rules put in place to stop the aggression inside.
Customer feedback - Blaze 🐾
"Done really well this evening even with a few distractions a cat a cyclist and 2 walkers. I'm amazed he's so chilled it's making me more confident and he's pooped we're in for a quiet evening 🤣🤣"
Yesterday's Pack Walk at Southwick Country Park 🐾🎄
This is Ralph the Cockapoo who we are working with for dog reactivity and other animals, barking at men, anxiety in the house and recall issues. His owner sent us these amazing videos and had this to say: “Ralph is doing really, really well. He is so much calmer at home, he can sit and look at other dogs and make absolutely no attempt to run and bark at them, he even walked straight past a horse the other day - I knew I had control of him and he knew he was safe. That was amazing as we see horses quite a lot in our area and he would previously bark and run at them even when on lead so this is real progress.”
Pack walks offer an excellent benefit for our customers by giving them a like-minded community to train alongside while addressing and refining their dogs' behaviour in real-world settings. We provide pack walks for our customers only, so check out the packages available on our website. Reach out to us to embark on your training journey!
Meet Reggie the Cockapoo who was unable to be off the lead at all due to his dog reactivity and high chase drive. He was also fear aggressive with strangers and I couldn’t touch him at all in our first session but now he comes up to me for strokes all the time. I can’t get over the transformation in this dog in just 5 weeks of hard work from his awesome owners 😁
Here's what his owners had to say:
"We contacted Sarah from Natural Balance Dog Training, hoping she could help us with our 5 year old Cockapoo Reggie, whom we re-homed 2 years ago. Reggie's behaviour had always been a problem with other dogs and people, and we felt we had given him all the training we were capable of. We needed some expert advice and arranged for our first meeting with Sarah, which we strictly followed. In the 5 weeks since we started, Reggie continues to improve enormously, which has totally changed our bond and enjoyment with our beloved pet. We can not recommend Sarah and Natural Balance Dog Training highly enough.
With thanks Ray, Anne & Reggie Dog."
This Sunday, we are in Swindon for our next PR Pack Walk! Open to customers, if you'd like to book on, please get in touch. Sunday 1st December, Coate Water Country Park at 1pm.
Lovely feedback about Kobe, who was very reactive, barked at everything, pulled on lead and couldn’t settle without whining, and barking.
"Starting to venture out further with more things going on! Walked amazingly down the beach front and we even took him into a restaurant for the first time and he was so well behaved and so relaxed! Apologies if you don’t like the updates but we are so thankful for what you have done for us as a family! 💗"
What is real-world dog training? It involves preparing your dog by training them in various environments, ensuring they can exhibit desired behaviours wherever you go. However, we do not recommend introducing your dog to a highly stimulating environment without prior training or strategies to manage their behaviour. Collaborating with a behaviourist can provide you and your dog with the necessary guidance to gradually expose them to these situations and help them thrive. If you're interested in learning more about how we can assist you, please reach out.
Training your dog alongside fellow dog owners can be a fantastic source of motivation. This is a significant benefit of participating in pack walks, where you can train together and become part of a community. Pack walks are open to our clients. Would you like to seize the chance to join us? Do you wish for your dog to participate in a walk but currently feel that it’s entirely out of reach? You're not alone; many owners of dogs on our pack walks once thought that such an experience was impossible. Contact us today to embark on your training journey.
