Alice and James are safely back in the UK following a fantastic experience attending the 2nd ALPZA LATAM congress of zookeepers at the fantastic Bioparque Ukumari in Colombia! 🇨🇴

They were able to share the work of KEEP with attendees from across Latin America with the view to gauging interest in keeper exchanges in the region! Which they say was very positively received!

They have come back with lots of exciting news, developments, ideas etc. which the KEEP team can't wait to share soon...!

They were also later hosted by the wonderful animal keeping team at Piscilago Colsubsidio where they got chance to discuss all sorts of zookeeping things like enrichment, training, enclosure design and more!

Many thanks to the fantastic Global Elephant Care for their generous support to help get them there as well as personal sponsors; David Field, Kit Coates, Sioned Mai Davies and Toby Reeve! Your generosity is greatly appreciated and helped us share our work with fantastic zoo staff from across the continent!

Keep your eyes peeled on https://www.keeperexchange.org/ for more updates coming soon!

Alice and James were invited to give a presentation about KEEP at the 2nd International Latin American Keepers conference at Bioparque Ukumari in Colombia this year, which they were absolutely delighted to accept.

The conference was an excellent insight into the passion, work, and dedication of Latin American zookeepers for the KEEP Team, and KEEP are absolutely itching to work together with these zoos in a closer capacity.

A huge thank you to ALPZA for inviting us, Bioparque Ukumari for being excellent hosts, and the wonderful Yvette Kemp for translating and guiding the team through this Latin American experience with grace and humour.

We can't wait to share more exciting updates with you all, KEEP your eyes on our channels for more updates!
