Howletts Wild Animal Park's fantastic primate team are offering an exciting 4 day placement with their amazing variety of primates!

The section is home to over 140 primates including pied tamarins, Moloch gibbons, Javan langurs, geladas and the only Heck's macaques outside of Indonesia!
This incredible opportunity will give someone the chance to see up close how the team care for these diverse collection of individuals, which could potentially include the administering vaccinations, enrichment, diet and troop management.
The placement would benefit someone looking to gain experience working with a larger variety of primates and/ or develop their primate care skills.

The department is home to a large variety of animals including Black Rhino, Bongo, red river hogs, Sable, Kudu, Giant Anteaters, Cape Buffalo and more. During the placement you’ll get hands on experience caring for these wonderful animals, including but not exclusive to participating in different behaviour conditioning sessions, feed/ browse preparation and herd management!

Jersey Zoo’s fantastic ape team is offering a 4 day placement working with all their ape species; Western Lowland Gorillas, Sumatran Orangutans and 2 species of gibbon!

This exciting opportunity will give someone the chance to work with their apes, see ape training, including ECG heart work, winter silage production, ape enrichment, gorilla troop management and welfare whilst their new facility is being built.
This placement is suited to someone who is passionate about apes and either looking to gain ape experience or develop experience working with these amazing species!

📣NEW PLACEMENT ALERT! 📣

Team Building with Bite are offering a brilliant 3 to 7 day placement (dependent on applicant) with them whilst they redevelop one of the large indoor habitats for the chimpanzee group at Twycross Zoo!

The TBWB team recently renovated the other indoor habitat to create a fantastic enriched space for the chimpanzees - https://youtu.be/cvzw4AuEpqU.

TBWB are returning to redevelop the second habitat between the 16th and 27th June. They are offering a position for one person to come and join them for part or all of this project, with a minimum of three of the seven days required, which can be determined by you.

Experience in basic tool use and a willingness to learn and be proactive is important! There will be have plenty of the team on site who you will be able to shadow and learn from, so this is the perfect opportunity for somebody who would like to increase their skill set and see how a large project comes about.
