Washing food down with a trip to the milk bar. They only just fit on now!! Have weighed them today, the biggest two are over 1.5kg. The smallest ones 1.2kg all a nice big and chunky size for 3 weeks old!!
I don't think weaning is going to be a problem. They're definitely quite keen!!! This is their cold compressed puppy food soaked down in water then mixed with warm goats milk. I guess they like it???!!
Well, inevitably, they broke free overnight!! The 5 biggest made a bid for freedom, the smallest 4 didn't figure it out! I've upgraded this morning. I'm fairly sure it'll take around 2 weeks before they've figured out how to escape from the new pen (video in comments). I've left the plastic pen in as they're still young and it gives more protection. Once they're bigger, the plastic pen will be removed and they'll have a normal pen!
Playtime now. Look at them go!! They're just about ready to try some solid food. Usually once they're running around, they'll start lapping. I'll be extending the pen soon too, these not-so-little guys will definitely need more space very soon!!
Wow, all of a sudden theure up and walking around this morning! Trouble really starts now.
All asleep and peaceful, apart from the one trying to eat my foot. 😂🤣😂🤣
8 weeks on Sunday and all off to their new homes Sunday morning. Going to miss the trio. They're a lively bunch just hope they all settle well in their new homes.
***Edited to add, if ive not booked you for collection yet, please drop me a message**
Just back from the vets. She was very happy with them all. They were microchipped yesterday too, so they're all prepared and ready to go. Just a few days to go!! Who is excited??!!! Xx
Pups doing well. Loads of weight gain
Photo in comments of kitten eating tallies food whilst she's with her babies. If that's not testament to her amazing temperament, I don't know what is!!!
Well the weathers a bit yuk today, so pups went outside for a bit whilst I cleaned, then play time in the kitchen and watching the washing machine go round before a chicken foot each and nap time! Let's hope they sleep. 🤣😂🤣😂
Just the sweetest thing. 😍😍😍
So chunky now, loving playing with macie and chasing her around the kitchen. **MACIE IS NOT THEIR MUM!!! Macie loves playing with puppies and so is helping with their socialising. Mum is Sadie, chocolate with tan. Please look through my posts to see mum!!*** Mum is here and will meet you if you were to view the girl.
** Still female available. **
Playing chase in the garden.
We come outside every couple of hours throughout the day now and they've been really good with staying clean inside. They're super little pups. X
Playing outside this evening with their bigger sister, Mocha.
Full of energy this morning!!!
I upgraded the pups yesterday. They're pretty mobile now so it's playpen time!! X
Resource guarding!!!
Please read!!
Today little Haze growled at myself and my partner to guard a Chew. This is resource guarding. Dogs can guard anything, toys, chews, even their favorite person! It's natural for them, in the wild if they don't protect, they will loose it and starve. It's really important to manage it correctly at this young age. If you manage it right now, you will fix the problem for life. The most important rule is DO NOT TELL YOUR PUPPY OFF. The second most important rule is DO NOT TAKE AWAY WHAT THEY ARE GUARDING. Both of these responses will mean your puppy believes it NEEDS to protect itself and its possession. We need to teach them we are not a threat and they do not need to guard from us.
In this video I used raw food, but you can use any HIGH VALUE treat. Use your puppies favorite food, treat, tuna, cheese...absolutely anything you puppy adores. Approach puppy and call its name. Then drop the food right next to puppy. Puppy should drop what they're guarding and eat food. Praise puppy but don't approach or touch. Repeat this getting closer until your puppy drops the possession willingly to take the food from you. In this video, haze has stopped growling and willingly takes the food from me. It may only take 1 session and your pup may never guard again, but it may take 3 or 4 times. Just remember to keep a light mood, and keep it positive. Any questions please ask!
2 crazy roans playing. Won't be long before Fern is bigger than otis I think! X
