Bit of hold practice with Reaper and Russet this afternoon. Love these boys. Reaper is nearly 9 months old and Mr Sensible never fails to impress me. Russet, is just Russet, the handsome little sod!

We knew Jack wasn't as big as everybody thought he was - he photographs quite big. Those of you who have seen my dogs, know I love the old fashioned, proper cocker stamp. So today, we were highly scientific.... it involved a magnetic tape measure, a galvanised panel and some good timing 🙈🤣 Russet is 35cm (we knew this because he has caused differing opinions in the agility world). Jack is 37cm, the same as Rumble. We tried our best, I'm not going to stand by this in a courtroom but I gave it a blooming good shot!!

Henna and Bronte soaking up some sunshine. Bronte is so fit and healthy for her age, I couldnt be more pleased with her condition. For a clumber, she has reached a grand age, but nobody has told her that. I'm sure she would happily spend more full days on the shooting field if we let her.

Lots of people asking how big Jack, Helmsway AKA, is, this is up against 12kg Henna, (Russets mum) I will actually measure him, he photographs bigger for some reason. But I'd call him small/medium.... ps, he is learning to pose 🤣

Jack is a very drivey dog, retrieves fur and feather, he definitely does not hold back from cover and has no fear of water. Totally mute, calm in the house/kennel. Loves attention. Proven. Approx 12kg and 37cm.
BVA hip scored 4/6 and BVA elbow scored 0/0. Patella checked, just need something in writing.
PLA grade 0 and has a yearly, unaffected eye test.
He is dna clear for AMS, FN, PRA, carrier of PP.

One of my favourite things to do is have a look at how the boy's pups are getting on. Bit of a journey today, but totally worth it. These pups are by Rumble, out of a very talented working girl. Priority will be to working homes, or at least homes where these pups will have a job. I decided a long time ago, no more girls.... but this little black and tan really pulled the heart strings.....

I'm a huge believer that without the basics, gundogs won't succeed. So jack and I are going back over the basics so we can move forward without a language barrier (he's a northern boy and I definitely sound like a southern bird🤣🤣🤣) It's puppy stuff, but great for building a bond and he knows what im asking. So after 1 week here, we started proofing the stop whistle at heel, heel work and he showed his hold today. Oh, and we found out, he particularly likes cuddles. 🖤🙈
