Did you know that puppy ‘Zoomies’ are a real thing ? Some people call it a funny 1/2 hour , normally occurs early evening and after a meal, puppies go ‘crazy’ for around 20-30 minutes , these are actually a response to built up energy or a outburst of high arousal after a stressful situation- being a puppy this could be anything knew that they have learnt etc. The puppy should be allowed to release this built up energy but in a safe space , away from slippery surfaces or sharp objects and stairs.
Frenetic random activity periods (FRAPs), More commonly known as Zoomies can also be an indication of teething pain and help to alleviate this can reduce the frantic period. Using a CLICKER ⬇️
Have you used a clicker ? I need to get the tripod set up but this is just a quick video , demonstrating captain- ( he anticipates as he knows what I’ll ask) the clicker is a great tool to help in positive reward training. As well as a distraction, clickers can be great when working with a reactive dog to encourage the correct behaviour when under certain stressors. As seen in this video ( ignore Belle trying to get in on the treats) 🤣. Ask the command , click and reward to reinforce that the clicker means treat or reward. Have a go?
