My newest doggie client has fab dog walking skills thanks to her training at Yogi’s Dog Training. At 5 months old, this FULL-SIZE goldendoodle is already gigantic, and the training she has already learned and continues to learn will make her owners and my job, as her walker, a lot easier going forward! I think I’m in love. She’s gorgeous!

Fireworks can be very scary for our doggies. Please get in touch if you would assistance or advice about helping your dog to be less sensitive to fireworks.

The FIREWORK SESSION is fast approaching.

Desensitizing a dog to fireworks is a gradual process that involves introducing and increasing the volume of firework recordings to help a dog become more tolerant of the noise.

Here are some tips to help you help your dog this firework season-

Start early: Begin at least six months before fireworks season.

Play recordings: Use CDs, playlists, or online resources to play recordings of fireworks at a low volume.

Increase volume gradually: Slowly increase the volume over time until your dog no longer reacts.

Pair with positive experiences: Once your dog is comfortable with the noise, start associating it with something pleasant, like food or play. This is called counterconditioning.

Schedule regular training: Training sessions should be scheduled regularly to help your dog maintain their progress.

Ideally, it would be best if you had already been desensitizing your dog to the noise that fireworks make.

If not, you should begin considering it immediately.

Please do get in touch if you would like to have a chat or ask for some advice about your dog and fireworks.

We will discuss how we can assist our loyal companions 🎆

Part of being a qualified IMDT Dog Trainer involves annual Continual Professional Development. And after just passing another exam, I’m now a qualified ‘IMDT Professional Dog Walker’. Yes, anyone can walk a dog! 😄 BUT my aim is to give the highest quality service to my clients and go above and beyond. From learning the latest information on canine behaviour and handling skills, government regulation and welfare laws to risk assessments and first aid, the knowledge I have received from this course ensures your pup is in the best possible hands. 🙌🐶❤️
