😺 Update: Saturday 5th April😺
Hi everyone. Belinda here. Sadly no movement on the house sale but everything on track for my wrist operation on the 28th.
I've been thinking about your cats and how I might still be able to help them should you be going away on holiday this Summer. As the cattery is closed down now, I thought about possibly making myself available for home visits over the summer holidays, once my wrist is (🤞) fixed. Is this something you would consider? Obviously I would have to think about the distances I would be prepared to travel but my previous incarnation of a petsitting business was by visiting pets in their own home.
Let me know your thoughts.
Have a great weekend. Belinda.

We are still frequently being called to deer hit by cars across Aberdeenshire where the driver who hit the deer failed to report the incident or stop.

This poor roe buck was hit on the road through the industrial estate by Score Ltd in Peterhead early this morning and left to suffer with catastrophic injuries. Sadly, due to the severity of his injuries, the roe buck had to be dispatched at the scene. Thank you to the gentleman who called it in to us this morning

If you hit a deer, please stop when it is safe to do so. If the deer is alive, take note of the exact location—ideally using the What3Words app—and call your nearest wildlife rescue. If the deer poses a risk to other road users, please also call the police.

We are a small team here at New Arc Wildlife Rescue, normally with only one of us attending deer out of hours so please do be patient as we get very busy with call outs moving forwards at this time of year.

😺Hi everyone😺
Unfortunately the buyers of my house have had to back out, so the property will be going back on the market very soon. Would anyone be interested in buying it?
I'll update with news as soon as I have any. If I can't find a buyer soon, I might have to seriously consider reopening the cattery as I haven't had any income for seven months now.
My wrist: NHS has finally agreed to do surgery on it after eight months of chronic pain and asking for surgery. The operation is booked for the end of April. Five more weeks to hang on to my sanity!!
2025 certainly isn't going to plan. 😞
I'll be organising a community "Spring Clean"/tidy-up and hedgerow planting in my new Nature Reserve very soon. I hope you'll be able to join me.

🐱CATTERY UPDATE 🐱

Dear Followers, Clients and Friends.
Apologies, it is has been awhile since I posted an update on what is happening with the sale of the property here. Unfortunately, there is not much to tell as the couple buying the house are still trying to sell their house. This in turn has meant I cannot start looking for a new home of my own. Sadly everything remains very much in limbo. Realistically, I can see me still being here at Easter...
On top of this, the situation with my wrist, which I broke back in July, is not much better. After the hospital "messed up" (putting it mildly), I have been in constant, chronic, debilitating pain and as it is my right hand and I am right handed, it has severely interfered with me living my life. Unfortunately, as a consequence, it has been an extremely mentally as well as physically challenging time.
The events of past eight month have only served to reinforce my decision to move back closer to a support network of friends and closer to amenities and services.
Thankfully the hospital has now FINALLY agreed with me that I need surgery on my wrist and I am on a waiting to list for that! I am hoping this will happen within the next month or so, but it will mean that I will then need at least another six months of physio afterwards again.
There is a long road ahead but I have got this far on my own, so I must keep going. I have been incredibly thankful for the love and support of a few lovely cattery customers, who I am now pleased to call friends, who have helped me when they can. For these people I will be eternally grateful, I would not have got this far without them.
As I am going to still be around for at least another month-six weeks, I am putting out a plea for help in the coming weeks, if anyone is able to help, or know of anyone who offers relevant services?
1) I desperately need help with housework! If anyone knows of a good, reliable cleaner - who likes animals!!
2) I am hoping to get a squad of volunteers together to help me do some much needed maintenance on my nature reserve woodland and some of you kindly helped me plant two years ago. I'm incredibly frustrated that my damaged wrist prevents me from doing any kind of gardening work, having been a professional gardener for over 30 years!! Does anyone know of any local gardening clubs? Environmental groups? Wildlife enthusiasts? Of ANY age! Who'd like to muck in? I am excited that there is frogspawn in the wildlife pond for the first time. I'm hoping this nature reserve will leave a wonderful legacy for the local community for years to come.
3) I am looking for any help with starting to pack up things for when I eventually move. Mostly outside at the moment.
4) Anyone that would like to meet up for coffee, cake and a chat, I would love that as I have been struggling with the isolation here.
5) Meet ups for walks? As the weather gets better I want to get out more with my dog Badger. Poor boy hasn't had many long walks to explore the area, because my wrist has been very debilitating.

Well, that's enough from me for now. The cattery telephone number is no longer is use but you can message me here, or send me an email at: [email protected]

My very very best to you all - and your cats (whom I miss seeing SO much) Belinda 🐾🐾
