‼️As a small business that puts most of our income into our van, maintenance of the vehicle, fuel, hiring our own land, equipment and up to date training courses. I simply cannot understand why someone would use our services and then ignore us without payment of their invoice. Not only has this client been offered several weeks of payment schedules to be affordable for them, but they have taken no consideration of the financial impact this has on myself as a mum and business owner. It saddens me that people feel they can take advantage of our services and our hard work. You know who you are, we have enough integrity to decide that we will not use this opportunity to call you out in name. ‼️

Big question that most owners ask.

Essentially if you can get your dog off the sofa when you ask and they have no behavioural issues then absolutely they can come up and snuggle.

Privileges are earned, and being next to us on the sofa where our scent is the strongest is a privilege. If they cannot use that privilege properly then they don’t get it.

I’m all about removing areas of conflict before they spiral into something else or something more serious.

This does not mean they can’t have the sofa time back, it just means you have some work to do before they are back up there.

The Hidden Hazards: Chemicals in Veterinary Flea Treatments and Their Side Effects

When it comes to protecting our beloved pets from fleas, many of us turn to veterinary flea treatments. These treatments are often seen as a necessary part of pet care, but what many may not know is the presence of potent chemicals within these products can have horrible effects on our pets and local wildlife.

Two of the most commonly used chemicals in pet flea treatments are imidacloprid and fipronil. Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid, which has been linked to bee declines due to its potent insecticidal properties. Fipronil is another widely used insecticide that can harm the nervous systems of animals and humans. These substances are designed to be toxic to fleas and ticks and mostly, they are effective at their job. However, their potency also means that they can have unintended consequences.

Environmental Impact Studies have shown that these chemicals are not just confined to the bodies of our pets. They have been found in significant levels in river water samples, with 99% of samples containing fipronil and 66% containing imidacloprid. This is concerning because these substances can persist in the environment and affect non-target wildlife, particularly aquatic life.

Reported Side Effects on Pets.

Itchy skin, hair loss, and sores where a ‘spot-on’ product is applied
Low energy
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Drooling
Reduced appetite
Breathing problems
Weakness or wobbling.
In more severe cases, pets may experience seizures, tremors, depression, and paresthesias. If a pet shows any signs of a reaction after applying the treatment, it is crucial to contact a vet immediately.

It is important for pet owners to use flea treatments only when necessary, rather than as a preventative measure.

Using natural preventatives eleminates the need for unnecessary chemicals. Products such as Billy No Mates, Bug Off Spray, Diatomaceous earth, Aniforte spot on and spray, Proflax Get Off Me and so many more are a safer and health beneficial alternative to keep your pet safe from nasties.

Come and have a chat with us about changing your flea treatments.

Well, money talks, doesn't it?

What a great way to advertise pet care & health.
I'm sure Mars Inc (that's who owns RC) really gives a 💩 about our dogs welfare 🤥

They care about profits, profits from sales, from sponsoring vet practices and keeping our pets in the cycle of bad food ➡️ vets ➡️ more bad foods ➡️ vets again.

Nothing angers me more than the ones preaching for these multi-billion £ companies because they're backed by science, quote "if you actually did some research and read the studies done on feeding kibble...." Yesssss .... Then you'd actually see biased science right before your eyes.

Smaller companies who don't have the same monetary clout can't afford the outlay of expensive trials - they can't afford the same sponsorships - they can't afford the same airtime. So why would a kibble company (who make millions in profit every year) want to do research on feeding dogs a balanced, fresh food diet?
That wouldn't be a great business decision would it?

To prove my point Mars Inc have bought the biggest manufacturer of Grain - Free diets (the same diet they claimed caused DCM in dogs). Why? Because they look at trends in the market. Not because they all of a sudden care to provide a healthier diet, because they have seen the huge increase of dog owners actually researching what they're feeding to their dogs.

Thankfully, more and more research into fresh diets is happening now, and the bigger we get and the louder we shout they will all have to make a change.

The Kennel Club, which is a business, have made a business decision to boost profits 🤑 and I don't think it's gone the way they thought (check the comments).

I've said for years about KC not giving a hoot about our hounds anymore. The registration of untested, NRCs to breeds such as - The French Bulldogs, Pugs, The English Bulldog, Pomeranians and so on was a little inclination into profit being their number 1 motivator.

The Kennel Club is supposed to support the improvement of breeds. They're supposed to support good breeders, well bred dogs. But instead they register Merle long haired Frenchies with no health tests 💩🤯🤷‍♀️ and now, they have Mars Inc in their pockets 🤑🤑🤑 make what you will of all this, but for me "the dog world" is as much in bits as the rest of the world.

Even after 7 years of doing this job, results like these never fail to amaze me ❤️

Thank you to our lovely customer for allowing us to use her pictures.

I think the results speak for themselves -
This customer came to us to change their dog's diet after hearing recommendation after recommendation to switch her dog to raw.
These results were achieved just by a change in diet - not every dog is as lucky as this one though, sometimes further exploration into the dog and it's diet is needed.

Commercial dog food was made for our convenience, not our dogs. And whilst we can make the choice to eat fresh or processed foods our dogs don't get that choice, that's why it's so important for us to make the right choices for them, and who doesn't want a healthy dog, right?

Feeding fresh foods will always be healthier than feeding processed foods. We don't need a degree to feed our animals, we just need a bit of knowledge and understanding ❤️

Pop in and speak to us about switching your dog to a more natural, healthy diet.
