DAY 5 Agnieszka started off having a little anxiety about all of the goings on around the outside of the school this evening. Sheep, horse walker and other horses moving around. Henry on the other hand wasn’t really bothered about it all but Agnieszka’s worries were transferring to Henry. Breathing and concentrating on the matter in hand inside the school was key. As soon as they stated thinking forward and positively about the job they had to do which tonight was riding a dog leg, they had to concentrate. They both did so well and the light bulb moment of riding forward and asking for a little leg yield to calm and ask for forward and not grab at him worked wonders. Looking forward to day 6.

DAY 4 Just brilliant. Some amazing trot work coming together today. Henry and Agnieszka jumped bigger indoors than they had done before, especially with such control and no head tossing etc. I then pushed them out of their comfort zone by taking them outside in ‘THE WIND’ and into the jumping arena. Well what can I say ! They did brilliantly. We started just walking over poles between fences concentrating on turns and reinforcing what we had done over the past few days in the indoor school. All went well so we introduced trot and canter. They finished on putting 2 fences together. So pleased on how far they have come on. Henry is having a day off tomorrow. Next installment will be Wednesday .

Day 3 Henry and Agnieszka jumping calmly.

Day 3 This morning we practiced half seat. We then progressed to cantering and turning in balance over poles. Henry took it all in his stride without getting strong or silly which he usually does. We then popped the fences up gradually so a small but simple course could be put together with changes of rein. They did absolutely amazingly. I then took them both for a little chilled out walk as this is something they don’t really do at home.

Henry and Agnieszka had their second lesson tonight at Berriewood Farm. Well what a difference 24hrs makes. They did amazingly well. Henry a lot calmer stretching and seeking for the contact instead of hollowing. He even found he could move forward more freely. Improving his balance and rhythm will help him jump more calmly. Agnieszka has had to completely change her way of thinking when riding Henry and has worked really hard to accomplish this in such a short space of time. We are going to be working on position and improving his canter tomorrow hopefully followed by a little bit of jumping if all goes well. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
