Peak Performance Veterinary Physiotherapy Fully insured, Masters (Level 7) qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, RAMP and NAVP registered. Also fully insured for your pet sitting and dog walking needs.

Fully insured & Masters qualified (Level 7) Veterinary Physiotherapist and Canine Hydrotherapist, covering parts of Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk. I am a proud member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP), Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP) and Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA). Veterinary Physiotherapy includes the use of manual therapies (passive

range of motion, stretching, massage and myofascial release), electrotherapies (Class 3B Laser Therapy, PEMFT and TENS), kinesiotaping and remedial exercise prescription. Each session and exercise plan is individually tailored to meet the needs of each animal in order to restore and enhance performance, keeping them in their optimum condition. Physiotherapy benefits healthy animals, as well as those with diagnosed musculoskeletal or neurological conditions. It aims to reduce pain, muscle tension/spasm, and the risk of injury. It also aims to improve proprioception, joint range of motion, flexibility and circulation, increase muscle mass and strength, as well as to improve general well-being and quality of life.

Did you know Veterinary Physiotherapy can be beneficial for cats too? 🐱

Here is 4-month old Rue showing off her skills today! Can you believe this is the first time she's been asked to walk over cavaletti poles?

Rue suffered a tibial malleolar fracture which has been repaired surgically. She is now having regular physiotherapy to aid healing, improve weight bearing/limb use and help her build muscle mass 💪🏼

Koda was very relaxed during his pre-christmas physio session (he was sat on a bed, just didn't want his head on it 😂)

Koda has monthly sessions to reduce discomfort and manage muscular compensations associated with osteoarthritis. His owner has seen a significant improvement in Koda's movement, behaviour, and his general mood/demeanor. He's now a much happier dog! 🐶

Veterinary physiotherapy sessions include remedial exercises, these are often also given as 'homework' in between visits. Exercises are individually tailored to each animal in order to target specific aims.
Here you can see Louie completing his cavaletti pole exercise. This exercise can be used to increase limb joint range of motion and proprioception, as well as re-educating gait patterns.
Louie has osteoarthritis, so we use poles to increase and maintain joint range of motion, as well as increasing muscle mass to support his joints 🐶💪🏼

It's always lovely to receive messages like this 🥰 In the days leading up to her physio this week, Pippi had been sitting down on her walks and just generally being a bit slower/less enthusiastic than usual.
So it's great to hear that after her session Pippi was feeling more comfortable and therefore more active!

Is your dog starting to slow down? Struggling more with stairs/furniture/getting in & out of the car? Or perhaps they're getting older and you'd just like a general assessment to keep them in peak condition and learn how to support them as they age 🐾

If so, please do get in touch for more information on how I can help you & your canine companion(s).

This is Siena, an 18 week old Cane Corso 🐶
Unfortunately Siena suffered from a spiral fracture of her femur which has been surgically repaired at Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre. Siena is receiving veterinary physiotherapy to aid her recovery, increase limb use and build muscle mass. But being a puppy, Siena prefers to pick up and run off with the poles, rather than walk over them!🤭

A couple of weeks ago I had two very adorable little helpers 😍🐱

I've been seeing Hopper since he was 5 months old. Unfortunately Hopper had his right forelimb amputated and has since been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia in his remaining forelimb. Hopper has been having physiotherapy (and hydrotherapy) to reduce pain, manage compensations and help keep him as strong as possible. 💪🏼 As you can see he rather enjoys his sessions! 😴🐶

To our XL bully owners,

We stand with you at this confusing time. We are here to help where we can. Our wonderful team of nurses are providing consults for anyone who knows or thinks their dog is of XL bully type.

Tash our SVN has lovingly compiled a set of resources to help you navigate the upcoming ban and help ensure you can stay the right side of this confusing and upsetting law.

Dog attacks are an incredibly emotive subject but we know that many of you have beautiful well tempered loving dogs that will be affected by this ban.

Not sure where to start with muzzle training? Unsure on the correct timing to spay? Is even the idea of filling out the paperwork making you lose sleep?

We will help where we can. Book your consultation with one of our nurses today.

Much love,

Jenny, Carly and all the BSEVC team

We will remember them 🐶🐴🌹❤️

A gold star goes to Phoenix this week 🌟
Phoenix had her last physiotherapy session today following TPLO surgery at Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre.
Phoenix has worked really hard with her home exercise plan & significantly increased her hindlimb muscle mass over the last couple of months 💪🏼

If you think your dog could benefit from physiotherapy following a recent surgery/injury, perhaps they're struggling a little with the colder weather/stiffness or reduced mobility, then please do get in touch.
