I've seen them work wonders with my dog who used to have a thing for passing car tyres.
I've experienced them to be a very effective and humane communication tool between owner and dog, especially off lead doing distance training.
I have never found a dog with 100% recall other than those that have been e-collar trained.

3 week update on Caleb being fed raw meat only diet.
He doesn't hold up his paw after a run anymore. His teeth and gums look much better. He's going in for a scale and polish tomorrow so just wanted to show you how much improvement there's been without any more intervention than diet alone. His breath smells much better too 🤗💫
Shout out to for providing the raw meat only chubs and for providing the fat and lights. Thank you 🙏
We're still working on Caleb's arthritis and heart murmur and will keep you updated with any changes.

Teaching Luna to be comfortable around traffic part 2.
I change my approach a bit this time, show you my protective stance and finish off with a brief walk near ish the road. Progress is being made!
And then we played stick 😉🤗

Part one of teaching Luna that she can relax around cars because I've got it covered 💪
It's a slow process and requires a very precise mix of slowness, gentle guidance and an unwavering clarity so that you get your message across consistently and understandably.
We've already done a lot of work off lead in our quiet lane with just one vehicle at a time in between playing ball (a VERY strong distraction for Luna) but here we're moving onto a busy road and walking to heel on the lead.
It would be ideal if we could see the road and be able to walk directly away from it but this walking alongside at various distances is the next best thing.
I'll keep you updated with how this progresses.

I found an opportunity to teach Luna that calmness gets her what she wants (in this case her lead). Here I'm asking her to come but in a calm indoor way rather than her usual scamper the hall ending in a skid stopped by crashing into my feet 😂
We worked on it yesterday so you don't see how crazy it was to begin with and I don't continue the lesson until it's 100% but just to give you an idea of the process.

Feeding time! And the importance of feeding your dog a species appropriate diet. Raw meat, some fat and on this occasion an egg as a treat.
