Although Halloween is not until the 31st of October, the kindest thing to do is to start preparing your dog for this event now.

Thinking ahead, really considering all the stimulus of the event from your own dog's point of view and putting safety measures in place can make it less scary.

Sadly it’s Mr Shelby’s last night with us. It has been an absolute pleasure to take care of this beautiful boy. He is well mannered, playful, kind, loving and a general joy to have around. Cookie & Molly will miss their new friend and the small hooman will be just a bit lost without her massive playmate.

This week I took #cookiecthecocker & #mollyctherescue to a secure dog walking field. Using a secure field means that both the girls get freedom to explore their surroundings in a way that pleases them both. Molly is happy with her nose to the floor whilst Cookie will run after the ball and make the most of the agility obstacles. We also had a massive personal achievement for Miss Molly, she recognised her name and came back to me from quite a long way across the field. For those that don’t know, Miss Molly is a six year old rescue dog who up until January had never lived in a house, had a name, eaten from a bowl or had any training. For Molly to recognise a command and know what to do was a huge win for us both!! It was very emotional and I stood and cried and cuddled her and gave her ALL the treats for being such a clever girl. Cookie absolutely loved the treat tree and I loved that it was a brilliant way to cool her down at the end of the session.
