Lovely to see Amber again this week. She’s a Bernese mountain dog and unfortunately for me loves a leaning into me cuddle 😆Poor Amber broke her leg last year so we are working on issue related to compensating. As it’s been lovely weather the last couple times I’ve seen her, we’ve had the joy of sessions outside. Let it continue!

Gorgeous lady Moss was in this week for her first session. She has hip dysplasia and also has hydrotherapy treatment. Massage therapy will complement her hydro sessions and aid in improving muscle tone, address build up of trigger points and aid improving comfort.

She can be a nervous girl but settled very well for treatment. I will see her again over the next two weeks before she moves to maintenance sessions.

Had lots of lovely massages recently and welcomed some newbies this week!

The lovely 4 year old Indie (left) came to see me following some recent lameness so her owner wanted a check over. She has a couple of areas of tension and build up of trigger points but overall is in good condition. After one more session she will move into maintenance massages as and when she needs them.

The big softie 7 year old Otis came to see me as he has arthritis and struggles with intermittent lameness. We found some areas of pain due to compensatory movement, trigger points and adhered tissue, which impacts mobility, muscular function and comfort. I’m sure he will benefit with further treatment. He was such a delight to treat 🐶

Senior gentleman Dexter had his massage today. Safe to say he enjoyed the experience 😆he has arthritis and his owners have noticed increased stiffness when getting about. In particular today we worked on some pesky trigger points and hypertonic muscles (muscles with high resting tone). Working on addressing these issues will help Dexter move more freely and reduce pain. I think he’ll look forward to the next session 🐶

I do love my sessions with Morse! I always have the happiest greeting with an offering of a toy, of course, followed by his pre massage ritual of rolling around on the mat and a drink before he is ready to chill out and receive treatment 😆he had a lovely snooze during treatment and didn’t even realise I had finished. Unfortunately I had to wake him up to get my mat back, but I’m sure he had a lovely snooze after I left 🐶

It’s been a good start to the week with some lovely massages! One of which was Molly. She doesn’t have any diagnosed issues however her owners noticed she was rubbing her back a lot on the sofa. This can be a sign of pain or discomfort. On assessment Molly does have a lot of myofascial pain, particularly down her back. It’s likely this is why she is rubbing against the sofa a lot! Whilst myofascial pain can be caused for several reasons Molly does have a large patch of scar tissue on her lower back (unknown cause from her days on the streets 😞). As tissue heals and lays down scar tissue it can affect the surrounding tissue by pulling on them to aid closing up the wound. It is likely this is atleast part of the cause of her discomfort. She very much enjoyed her massage but always has to have a comfort toy in her mouth 😆

Look at this gorgeous chap, Bear! He’s a Catalan Sheepdog. He did very well in his first session and allowed me to do lots of work on him. His owners have noticed he doesn’t like jumping in the car anymore, is stiff when getting up and they can’t take him for long walks like they used to. I’m sure with some work we can help him feel more comfortable 🐶

Tia getting ready for her post massage snooze! Maintenance massage for Tia, relieving some tight muscles in her back and addressing some trigger points. She still enjoys lots of lovely walks so massages keep her feeling mobile and ready for her next run around!
