Senior gentleman Dexter had his massage today. Safe to say he enjoyed the experience 😆he has arthritis and his owners have noticed increased stiffness when getting about. In particular today we worked on some pesky trigger points and hypertonic muscles (muscles with high resting tone). Working on addressing these issues will help Dexter move more freely and reduce pain. I think he’ll look forward to the next session 🐶

I do love my sessions with Morse! I always have the happiest greeting with an offering of a toy, of course, followed by his pre massage ritual of rolling around on the mat and a drink before he is ready to chill out and receive treatment 😆he had a lovely snooze during treatment and didn’t even realise I had finished. Unfortunately I had to wake him up to get my mat back, but I’m sure he had a lovely snooze after I left 🐶

It’s been a good start to the week with some lovely massages! One of which was Molly. She doesn’t have any diagnosed issues however her owners noticed she was rubbing her back a lot on the sofa. This can be a sign of pain or discomfort. On assessment Molly does have a lot of myofascial pain, particularly down her back. It’s likely this is why she is rubbing against the sofa a lot! Whilst myofascial pain can be caused for several reasons Molly does have a large patch of scar tissue on her lower back (unknown cause from her days on the streets 😞). As tissue heals and lays down scar tissue it can affect the surrounding tissue by pulling on them to aid closing up the wound. It is likely this is atleast part of the cause of her discomfort. She very much enjoyed her massage but always has to have a comfort toy in her mouth 😆

Look at this gorgeous chap, Bear! He’s a Catalan Sheepdog. He did very well in his first session and allowed me to do lots of work on him. His owners have noticed he doesn’t like jumping in the car anymore, is stiff when getting up and they can’t take him for long walks like they used to. I’m sure with some work we can help him feel more comfortable 🐶

Lovely to see these two again over at K9 Divine Grooming. They both have maintenance massage every few months to relieve tight muscles, address areas of compensation and resolve trigger points (knots). Safe to say they also very much look forward to post massage treats!

The face of Rusty post massage eager for a treat 😆
He’s an older gentleman slowing down and struggling a bit more with his mobility. This was his second session and his owner reports already some improvements in his movement. I worked a bit more on some adhered tissue today so hopefully this will also help him feel and move more comfortably. See you next week Rusty 🐶

Gorgeous girl Brary had her third session today. She’s had previous surgery on her hindlimb following cruciate ligament damage. We will move into maintenance sessions now. Here the aim is to maintain the improvements we have already seen and work further on problem areas so she can continue to be the happy girl she is! 🐶

Lovely Ossie had her second massage treatment this week. She has come for treatment as her mobility has decreased due to osteoarthritis. She is gradually building more trust with me and allowed me to work with her more. She was also relaxed enough at the end of treatment that she had a little snooze 😴🐶

Not all dogs will lie still for a massage treatment, in fact most don’t! I am trained to work with your dog and at their pace.

It’s been all about the boys this week! Morse, Charlie and Bear all receiving maintenance massage to help with different conditions from arthritis, hip dysplasia and slipped discs.

If you’ve seen your dog slowing down or showing signs of ageing, or they have an orthopaedic condition such as arthritis, cruciate damage or hip/elbow dysplasia get in contact to see if massage can aid in improving mobility, reducing stiffness and reducing pain levels🐶
