Apologies I have yet again been quiet, but I’ve been busy with a different kind of litter! 🐀

Absolutely in love with our standard poodle puppies, still some available if anyone’s interested send a DM for a puppy questionnaire 🫶

We do have one premie 😭 but they are 2 weeks old and he’s still with us and slowly gaining weight so 🤞

I look forward to getting back to rats when I have more time, I have had a couple of rescues and litters just for my own program, so if you are desperate or want to be on the wait list let me know. Other than that it’s nice having a bit of a break from rats, see you soon!

A reminder to check your cage and toys thoroughly where your rodents chew🤪 This silly baby got stuck in a hole they’ve chewed in a coconut hide that I hadn’t noticed. It took almost an hour of wiggling and I really thought it couldn’t be done, but a little perseverance and we’re finally out and free, if looking a little worse for wear🙌😂

Absolutely typical 🤦‍♀️ 2 months of failed pairings and the DAY after posting that I’m giving up on her Narnia finally has signs of pregnancy🫠
And Bindi was paired 17th Dec so should be due in a few days🫶
I had also already paired Bear with 2 new does so watch me juggling a million kittens in a minute😅 Ah well just my luck🤣

Not having much luck with my current pairings, so I’ve decided to try Bear instead in case the buck is the issue, marvel is ridiculously submissive and laidback so that could well be the issue with a sass queen like Narnia🤣 Fingers crossed Bear is up for showing him how it’s done🤪 I would like Marvel babies, but I don’t mind him missing this one, I’m never disappointed with baby Bears 🐻

Finally had a second to grab an update on Custards babies🤣😍 coming on nicely, still waiting for them to hurry up, moult and mature already so I can see how nicely the markings come along🤞
In other meez news Bindi is now less than a week away from due date so hopefully more coming soon😍🤞🤞

***HOME FOUND🥳***

This is Harley, originally part of this rescue back in Christmas 2021, so she is coming up to 2 years old. Her last cage mate has just passed away and her family do not want any more at the moment, so if anybody has space for her in their mischief please send me a message, let’s see if we can sort her some new friends for Christmas 🎄
She has had no health issues, and is currently in Bristol for collecting

Hey Heavenly Hammocks Plague has a complaint on your lovely hammocks… not enough holes!! 🤔😭
(Anyone want a naughty rat?? No?😂)

If anyone wants to spoil their ratties for Christmas and your rats aren’t on Santas naughty list (unlike plague😑) I recommend these, it was very pretty until this terror made his.. design changes 🤦‍♀️

I didn’t even think for one second that I’d be writing this for at LEAST another year… but my absolute squishbaby Pebble was found sleeping yesterday💔 zero signs or health issues or even signs of aging… his parents and grandparents are still alive even… We had plans to show and breed him again this year.. I can’t believe I’ll never get to kiss that squishy little nose again😩 my heart is broken 💔

Custard has had another nice sized litter of 5, her 3rd and final and hopefully🤞🤞🤞will save my Siamese line♥️

Next pairing should be interesting, Narnia (black berkie who carries vari, blue, blazed and farther back roan) with Marvel (black self with marbling, carries buff, mink and roan) Narnias mum was also from the black line, so this 2nd line cross could help the pigment, ears and eyes on the black line, and the size, health and temperament of the vari line since the black line is more mature, orrrr it could be a complete mismashed surprise and not be useful😂 but I’m excited, and praying that the roan gods will be generous and keep it far away😂😂

This little sq**rt has sadly reabsorbed💔 So back with Einstein she’ll go, Custard could be due on the 22nd, but I don’t hold out hope for that either🥲 I’ve decided the chances of both being pregnant now Isn’t great and that leaves me a little uncomfy if anything happens and I don’t have a plan B, so I will be moving Narnias planned pairing forward and let’s hope that’s a bit more reliable🤞my siamese line have always taken a while to take and then have big litters 😂

A little success story ♥️
This little monkey came in as a rescue assumed to have a hernia, originally the plan was to operate on it but it turned out to be an easy fix- just an umbilical abscess!
Scroll back through time to see how he’s healed, little cutie is looking so good now🥳
Makes a nice change to be an easier fix rather than the usual 🤣

Sleeping on the job 💤

He loves to sleep like he’s dead and give me heart attacks :,) don’t mind the mess, boys don’t keep hammocks looking nice for long, let alone white ones😭😂 His face when I pick him up like “for gods sake mother what?! I was napping”🤪

Best thing about hand rearing, they understand that hands mean food but not quite where the food comes from 😂😂The pure excitement 🤣

Enjoy this video dump of the kiddos, at this point Raven has fed them once in the last 2 days🥴 So looks like our teamwork is more like leaving me to do it all 😤😂 Good job they’re stinking cute ☺️

Another reason I don’t usually let or recommend leaving Does in the main cage with babies, but this time Raven decided to surprise me a few days early before I’d gotten her to the maternity cage.
