This handsome prince was a perfect gentleman for his mummy and daddy’s wedding at the weekend 💙

Before the ceremony we went a walk, then waited on the beautiful bride coming, he took the rings down the aisle (not without stopping at a couple of guests first to say hello) and then we done some mingling with the guests. Once he was finished getting photos taken I dropped him off at kennels where his other doggy friends were at.

Dog walking..it's tougher than you think!

Often considered an easy stress free way to make a living but it's far from it!

Especially if you're based in Scotland where mud , wind and rain are the norm.

Most people Only consider the actual walking part and how fun it would be to walk a pack of dogs while getting paid for it.

As well as having to deal with some mega hyper dogs they really have so much more to do and expectations placed upon them.

In an ideal world they would get paid more for what they do but I would imagine their fees are limited to what people can actually afford to pay them.

Not to mention the mass of competition they need to deal with.

Here's something's that are often overlooked .

Most of their day is made up of driving around doing pick ups and drop offs. Hours of driving and stop start.

Ruffling through sets of house keys to find the right key.

Owners expecting their dog to be exercised well but returned spotlessly clean and dry.

All the different equipment like harnesses, jackets that some want their dog to wear.. chasing a dog around a house trying to catch it or settle it before they can put the harness on.

Dogs that live in high flats or busy city centre locations, they can't get parked and takes ages to collect and drop off just one dog

Expecting the dog walker to train their dog for £9 per hour while they're caring for 6 other dogs at the same time.

I'm sure there's lots more that dog walkers themselves would tell you.

Appreciate your dog walker.
It's a service that many can't live without and the only freedom and exercise some dogs get.

Maybe leave them a wee thank you to boost their the October blues.

I should add that most of them suffer from athlete's feet because they have to wear wellies everyday 😜

August is an exciting month 🙊 I now have access to a secure, private field 3 days a week so I get to take more dogs on my group walks and they get to enjoy time running around, being free, just being dogs and doing what dogs do 🥰 🐾 I’m so excited to begin something new with Happy Trails!

I am currently not taking on any new customers for dog walking. I am completely full 🙈 I’m so happy that so many people are choosing me to walk their dogs because I understand that you wouldn’t just leave your waggy tail family member with just anyone. So thank you to each and everyone of you. I truly appreciate it! (You have no idea how much I do). Thank you 🐾❤️

So very true! 🙈 me and Buddy just about got blown away on my last walk! Remember your pups will survive if they don’t go a massive long walk for 2 hours. There’s plenty of ways to entertain them indoors…..good for their brain 🧠

I’ve not posted for a little while (3 weeks to be exact 🙈) so I thought I would make this a good one!……Happy Trails has some new services! 😁

Socialisation/off lead walks - if your dogs recall isn’t 100% (like my own 🙈) or you’re just not quite confident enough to let them off lead in a public park, your dog and up to 2 other dogs can enjoy some off lead fun, running around/playing/socialising in a fully secure field for up to 30 minutes. I can also offer this service on a 1 to 1 basis 🐾

Small animal care - if you’re going on a little getaway and need someone to care for your smallest family member, I can be there to help. I will make sure your hamster/gerbil/rabbit etc is fed, watered, clean and happy during the time you are away ☺️

Special events care - wedding, birthday, family gathering…..Have you ever wished your waggy tail best friend could come to any of these events with you but worry they wouldn’t get the attention they deserve or you wouldn’t be able to leave to take them a walk/feed them etc? Or perhaps you are away for the day (not overnight) and need someone to check in on them every few hours and just spend time with them, feed them, walk them etc. I am now offering a service to help with all of the above 🐾
