Today's outing, normally Rowan's shoot but I'm saving him for a big day on Monday. Bracken came for the 1st time & had a great day. He'll probably have to take over from Rowan next year anyway 😔

Back to back shoots. Gean was out yesterday. I'm not sure what the crop was but it was like a razor blade. His mouth was cut all round. It didn't slow him down & after a drink seemed fine.

Gean was lucky enough to have a bitch come back today hoping for a 2nd litter with him. Amazingly 3 of the previous litter are in training to be medical assistance dogs. Apparently they showed enormous potential at detecting unusual heart beats from as young as 10 weeks.

Bracken will sleep well tonight. I took him beating, expecting to keep him on a lead but the new keeper was doing the drives differently so he worked thick undergrowth all day & is shattered (me too!). Really pleased by his calmness when faced with a flushing point full of birds 😊

The season hasn't even started for us & he's managed to impale himself on the dreaded barbed wire. Just a hole rather than a tear so hopefully it will heal quickly 🤞
