Saving and Rehoming Strays SCIO Saving and Rehoming Strays is a small SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) It is also NON-REFUNDABLE. Every single penny helps.

Saving and Rehoming Strays is a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation No SC051584) based in Scotland with a mission to rescue and rehome dogs in the UK. As well as UK dogs we also partner with organisations in Europe, principally Romania, to identify dogs in need and support their path to finding a forever home. We believe in rescue without borders and that every dog deserves an oppo

rtunity to find a family of their own. Saving and Rehoming Strays has around 50 dogs in our care at any one time and is run by small team, primarily volunteers, giving their time for admin, fundraising, and looking after of the dogs in our care plus experienced rescuers in Romania and the UK. We have a rehoming centre in Scotland where our dogs will go for assessment, rehabilitation and ultimately rehoming in an environment not like traditional rehoming centres. Where appropriate our dogs live in groups and experience time with volunteers to allow them opportunity to socialise and get them ready to go to a new home. Alternatively, our dogs go to forever foster homes for their retirement. As a smaller rescue we have very little funding so are reliant on our supporters and donators to allow us to operate and to continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome. As a team we will aim to answer any questions as quickly as possible regarding the dogs or the adoption process. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at our website: www.savingandrehomingstrays.org

The adoption donation is £500 which goes towards our running costs including vets, transport, passports and looking after the dogs in our care. The adoptions donation is not a purchase fee but a donation to help us rescue other dogs. You can find out other ways to support us on the website including Donating via Paypal, hosting a fundraising event, choosing us on Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile or buying us something from our Amazon shopping list. If you would like to donate, our bank account details are below and we would be grateful if you can also complete a giftaid declaration form which allows us to claim giftaid on your donation – more information can be found on our website. It’s Day 6 of our 50 Dogs of Christmas Appeal
and we now have pressies covered for Muffin, Rupert, Blondie and Arlo, Roni and Benny, Bentley and Juna and Bonnie and Milo and £35 towards todays sibling duo Belle and Angel ❤️

Those of you who have followed me for a while will know that every year I run a 50 Dogs of Christmas Appeal to treat all our lovely long term dogs to a home style Christmas with their own gifts and treats ❤️❤️❤️

We normally aim for £50 a dog and I normally start running this 50 days BEFORE Christmas, but this year I’ve got a little behind, so am going to list them in pairs and need you to whizz through the dogs so we get everyone covered 🤪

I know some people would rather give a gift than donate money, so I’m going to add the link to the Amazon Christmas wish list below too ❤️

Please get behind this appeal and throw a few pounds at your favourite DC Doggos and let’s make their Christmas in rescue as special as any dog that has a proper home …

Once we have todays £100 donated we will move on to the next dogs ❤️

£50 down and £50 to go if anyone would like to wrap this one up quickly as we have 38 more dogs to get through before the big day 😝

The PayPal link is below and please put the dogs name as your reference (and don’t forget to complete a gift aid form too if you are a UK tax payer) ###

Dudley – The Cuddliest Gentleman
Location: Foster in Ayr
Age: Just over 2.5 years
Status: Castrated, vaccinated, pet passport
Dudley’s story is a heartbreaking one, but you’d never know it from his sunny nature. He was found abandoned on the street, sitting beside his harness and lead, patiently waiting for the family who never came back for him. Despite this, Dudley has remained the gentlest, sweetest soul — a dog who simply wants to love and be loved.
In foster, he has been nothing short of perfect. He adored spending time with the puppies, has been wonderful with all the dogs he has met (including the slower, older ones), and passed his cat test with complete ease. He’s also great around sensible children, making him suitable for a wide range of homes.
Dudley walks nicely on a lead, is fully toilet trained, clean in the house, and crate trained. He is affectionate, calm, cuddly, and has a wonderfully soft energy that makes everyone who meets him fall for him instantly.
We expect a lot of interest in this special boy — and whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky.
Could you be the one to give Dudley his forever home?

🐾 Adoption Profile: Bruin – The Little Survivor With the Biggest Heart
DOB: 01 July 2025
Location: Foster in Ayr
Size: Will likely be small–medium (long body, little legs!)
Vaccinated | Pet Passport | Not yet neutered (too young)
Meet Bruin, a brave and beautiful little soul with a story that will stay with you forever. Bruin was brought into rescue at just 3 weeks old after being thrown into a ditch with his brother. Sadly, his brother didn’t survive — but little Bruin fought hard, was hand reared and has grown into the happiest, most grounded pup you could hope to meet.
Since then, Bruin has lived in foster or with our rescuer in Romania, where he has thrived into a confident, social, gentle, and wonderfully “normal” puppy despite his rough start. He is truly a delight.
💛 Personality & Temperament
• A bright, affectionate, sweet little boy
• Very friendly with people and children
• Cat-tested and lived with cats
• Fun, curious, and loves being part of family life
• A balanced pup with no behavioural quirks despite what he’s been through
🏡 Home Life & Training
Bruin has an excellent foundation for such a young pup:
• House trained
• Crate trained
• Walks well on a lead
• Settles happily and adapts well to routine
He arrived with a small abscess on his face which has being treated and healing well.
🏠 The Home He’s Looking For
Bruin would suit a wide variety of loving homes — families, couples, singles, first-time adopters or experienced owners. He’s a versatile and easygoing little pup who just wants affection, stability, and fun.
🌟 Why Bruin is Special
Despite such a heartbreaking start, Bruin radiates joy. He is resilient, gentle, and full of love — the kind of dog who walks into your home and instantly feels like he’s been part of the family forever.
If you’re looking for a small-to-medium companion with a huge personality and an even bigger heart, Bruin might just be your perfect match.

Peggy – Adoption Profile
DOB: 17 July 2025
Location: Foster in Ayr
Status: Vaccinated, pet passport, too young to be spayed

Peggy is the smallest sister of the litter. She has a wonderfully shiny black coat and will grow to be a small–medium dog. Peggy is a little on the shy side at first, but after a few days of reassurance she relaxes beautifully and shows her affectionate, gentle nature.
She and her siblings were rescued as tiny pups from the side of a motorway with no mum around. They lived in a small shelter together and are now adapting amazingly well to life in foster care.

Peggy will need work on house training and learning to walk on a lead, as she has never lived in a home before. She is already trying her best and improving each day.
Peggy is lovely with other dogs, playful, and well-suited to many different households. Not cat tested, but given her age, she should be fine with careful introductions. She can live with sensible children who understand nervous young dogs.

If Peggy sounds like your perfect match, please apply at:

Piper – Adoption Profile
DOB: 17 July 2025
Location: Foster in Ayr
Status: Vaccinated, pet passport, too young to be spayed
Piper is the largest of the four siblings and the most confident of the group. With her beautiful wiry brown coat and natural little bobtail (she was born without a tail), she is a striking and charismatic girl. Likely to be small–medium once grown, she is full of love and curiosity.
Originally found on a motorway embankment with her littermates, Piper spent her early puppyhood in a small shelter before coming to Scotland. Despite this tough start, she is blossoming into a friendly, affectionate pup who adores human attention and cuddles.
Piper has not lived indoors before, so she is still learning house training and lead training. She is doing wonderfully so far and will thrive with consistent, positive guidance.
She is great with other dogs, playful, and would suit a variety of homes. Not cat tested, but due to her age she should adapt well with proper introductions. She can live with sensible children who understand shy young dogs.

I REALLY hate to have to do this with the 50 Dogs of Christmas Appeal running, but we have a problem 🥲

As a charity we are constantly fundraising and applying for grants etc in order to buy the higher value items we need and to continually improve the site.

Unfortunately this year, for one reason or another, we have hardly secured any grants, so have not been able to buy some of our planned purchases.

One of these items was an XL insulated kennel for Poo Corner. This would not have been such a problem, had we not taken delivery of 3 of the biggest pups I’ve ever seen and sadly they don’t fit in any of our existing ones 💔

We had kind of hoped that some of them would be rehomed before the really bad weather hit, but as none of them have yet had any interest, we need to be realistic and start making plans for winter.

Sadly these kennels are not cheap and we need to raise £1000 to buy just one 😫😫😫

If anyone can help with any amount, no matter how small, we (and the BIG pups) would be eternally grateful …

I’ll add the PayPal address below and the reference is BIG PUPS ❤️

🐶💛 Be amazing… and sponsor an SRS dog in need! 💛🐶
Looking for a truly meaningful way to make a difference? Sponsoring a dog is one of the best ways you can help an SRS rescue dog get the second chance they deserve. Check out our sponsorship video linked below for some of the dogs looking for a sponsor.

Your sponsorship gives a dog the chance to recover, rehabilitate and relax while we work tirelessly to find them a loving forever family. Your support helps provide:
✨ Veterinary treatment

And in return?
Your sponsored pooch will introduce themselves, and you’ll receive updates three times a year — at Valentine’s, in summer, and at Christmas. If your lucky dog finds their forever family, we’ll let you know and help you choose another sweet soul who needs you.

£10 – A cosy, snuggly blanket
£20 – Toys and tasty treats for a month

Be amazing and sponsor a dog!
Sponsorship is one of the bast ways you can help an SRS dog in need. It allows them to recover, rehabilitate and relax whilst we work hard at finding them a loving family. By sponsoring a dog you will be helping with veterinary treatment, a safe place to shelter, grooming, tasty food and treats, all of which are given with loving care.
Your sponsorship contributions are used to help your sponsor dog AND all the dogs in our care. We will put your money to use where it is needed most from covering shelter and everyday running costs, paying for veterinary fees or buying food and treats. Every pound will make a massive difference and will be gratefully received.
In return your sponsored pooch will be in touch to introduce themselves and you will receive updates 3 times a year – at valentines, over the summer and at Christmas. We will also let you know if your lucky dog has found a family and help to match you to another dog that requires sponsorship.
You can choose your monthly sponsorship amount and below shows you what your sponsorship will support:

£10 – Cozy snuggly Blanket
£20 – Toys and treats for a month
£30 – Food for 3-4 weeks
£50 – Romania kennel space for 2 weeks
£100 – Romania kennel space for 4 weeks

Q&A

Will I be my dogs only sponsor?
Each dog is supported by a number of kind sponsors. We could not provide all the food, warmth and care that these rescue dogs need without your generous help.

How often will I hear from my sponsor dog?
You will hear from your sponsor dog when you first sign up and then three times a year at Valentines, over the summer period and at Christmas.

What happens if my sponsor dog gets rehomed or passes away?
If your sponsor dog is rehomed or passes away we will always write to you and inform you. We will then work with you to identify another sponsorship dog.

How does it work
• Pick a dog you would like to sponsor from the dogs listed below
• Drop an email to [email protected]
• Our sponsorship team will be in contact to discuss next steps.
