Yes and I felt if most of them contacted us to do it, my heart sinks with every text, facebook messenger or email that I get daily and usually start with the words 'unforeseen circumstances'. Maybe before agreeing to take a dog on, or any animal, remember they are empathetic individuals with fears and issues and will have a huge impact on your life, maybe then before you screw up the animals life you do 'foresee the circumstances' that will occur

We've conducted a recent survey of 2,000 UK adults which has revealed a concerning trend among dog owners, with 10% having rehomed their dogs within the last year and another 11% having considered it.

My home for the next 10 days, first real holiday since covid and I am mentally and physically shattered, so just to be able to lie and relax and read is going to be great. Dannielle will be running the kennels and we have a great team who support her so I am leaving the dogs in good hands

Our lovely Emmet, still not found a home after being at the kennels for 3 years, he is so good out we use him like here, with Luna a very confused and anxious female, with severe reactivity with dogs even at a distance, beginning to calm down and walk with Emmet.

I am looking for a local foster so Morecambe Lancaster, Knott End Preesall area willing to work with us accepting a home after 3 years at the kennels, I am going to get him neutered now, I hadnt before because I wasnt sure if his initial problem required him to rely on testosterone to keep him grounded, but he seems fine now.

Any serious offers to foster, you will be a guinea pig, no other distractions like other dogs, cats or children please contact us

I was overwhelmed by the level of support after we had to face up to the fact we were going under financially because of the amount of dogs we had taken on who werent supported or who started on with funding and then they couldnt fund any longer.

We have enough on with rehabilitating and kenneling all these mistakes, according to Dannielle, our kennel manager, she says we have helped over 200 dogs the last year, lots of them considered unhomeable and best euthanised, but we have never given up on any dog, and I am proud to say so many of those 'unhomeable' dogs are now having fantastic lives, a lot of them live locally.

Two of them difficult dogs , Molly and Mac, Molly has gone locally yesterday, she loves Tony, a dog that hated men, and Mac tomorrow, he come to us up to his eyeballs on fluoxetine, we are getting a lot of dogs on it, we wean them off it as soon as we can, a vile option given by vets and dog behaviourists who cant be bothered to work on the dogs issues.

Mac is absolutely lovely now as all of the dogs that have come in on it and now arent on it. On top of that Bonzo and long timer Frank, look like they will be leaving us very soon.

We also have serious interest in Odin and Max, 2 of OEH's rescues, which I am so pleased about, maybe I can at least now, get a nights sleep, without waking up and wondering how the hell do we continue to stay open

Potter was one of the first dogs I rescued from Macedonia, up to then they had been Romanian Greek or from the UK. Potter was really ill when I was asked to take him and it was almost a year, due to him being ill and Covid travel restrictions.

Now most days he can be seen running along the prom or the beach at Morecambe with Falcon, Meekah and Lennie, all seriously abused dogs living their best lives

Just a reminder that Sue Simpson, of our fundraising team is holding a stall for OEH Foundation today in Garstang

Tomorrow between 10am and 3pm there is the Garstang Jumble Trail. Basically you just have a stall outside your house, either fundraising like me or just to raise money from stuff you don’t want any more.
I am running a fundraising stall for OEH on Byerworth Lane North. You won’t be able to miss me, I will have a gazebo on my drive, balloons and bunting galore. So I hope to see some of you there. Lots of lovely items, many at bargain prices. Mostly dog related although there is other stuff.
All of my customers will get a free raffle ticket to win Hugh the dog and his bone. He’s 16 1/2” tall and I’ve hand sewn him from felt especially for this event.
There are over 30 other stalls and they made a mistake not adding me to the charity stall list, so I didn't get a star, but the photos show the trail around the town.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow!

Look at that joyous face. Our Daisy at long last getting a shot at a caring and loving home
Daisy is a real survivor , she was one of the ones still alive from Monks Bunks when that all went wrong before going on to Joy Keys before coming to us with a huge list of issues, which many were fixed quite quickly, the rest have been dealt with and the last few months, Daisy has proved what a lovely girl she has, just needed to convince her of that and now look at her and the wonderful thing is she is also only a bark away from us and has her own horses and chickens and a large field to play in

Just heard yesterday that Gracie and Maddox were being adopted, yesterday was a good day with those 2 bits of news received in an hour.

Gracie had been with us a long time, a little difficult but an absolute sweetie, Maddox had been advised by a dog behaviourist, obviously clueless, and a vet, wouldn't be using that one, that he was unhomeable and both advised euthanasia.

No dog is past saving to us and to be honest neither of these two were ever a problem, I have always said, different home, different dog and with our advise and following that advise, we are always available for further training, Gracie and Maddox can now look forward to happy contented lives
