Bianca is the little princess that wants to be the center of your world and you hers! Perfect little lady to add life into a home. She is being rehomed, due to no fault of her own. After living in a multi-cat home her whole life, a new kitten that was rescued was added to the home, which has upset the dynamic and left her feeling unhappy struggling to find her place amongst one too many cats. DUBAI - FOSTERING OVER THE SUMMER
Pets make great companions to children, Betty & Luna’s courage and loving spirit is powerful tool and shows children that it’s OK to be different.

Betty - Ginger and White, rescued with a broken paw which later had to be amputated.

Luna - reached with a broken hip which has been operated on.

Both cuddle bugs and super friendly. They just need a temporary stop gap until we find a furever home for them. All essentials will be provided.

Aimee is currently studying her masters in International Fashion Marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her experience stems from working with Fashion brands promoting brand awareness and increasing organic growth on social platforms. She has a cat called Calah and a dog called Jim.

Aimee was born and raised in Dubai, her parents are Scottish and in 2009 moved to Spain, followed by relocating back to Scotland in 2013. Her compassion for animals stems from childhood having grown up with various rescued animals with her parents, totalling around 8 rescued cats and 2 dogs over her childhood. She is well versed in the challenges the Middle East face on animal welfare and will be taking a leading role in content creation for the Itty Bitty Kitty Tails. We are thrilled to have her on the team.

Is your cat keeping you up at night? Read on to find out some tips to help train your cat at bedtime…

Firstly, cats are playful creatures that require enrichment through playtime with toys to help mimic their natural instincts and behaviour. Incorporating playtime before the last feed will help get some of that energy out and tire them out before bed! Extra Tip: Feed them later so they have a nice full belly before sleepy time!

Don’t reward their bad behaviour, it might sound obvious, but we can all be guilty of it. If they wake you up to get some food or to play with you, don’t respond to it. This would mean they would begin realising that they can keep waking you up! It’s best if you ignore them and they’ll eventually get bored of trying.

Lastly, and most importantly: keep going! Training your cat takes time and effort but it will be worth it once you can get a full night's sleep! It usually takes around 2 weeks for them to learn/unlearn behaviours.

WELCOME TO JOYCE

Joyce is from Europe and ‘owner’ of 2 rescues, both FIV+, of which one, Sandy (aka Sandman) was adopted from IBKT last year. Born and raised in a home with a dog, multiple cats, and birds’, animals are a fundamental part of her life. In her time, she’s had dogs and cats in her household for many years. In Joyce’s earlier life she was involved as volunteer-at-a-distance with a famous European cat shelter, while lately she has been an integral part of a local cat shelter, often taking home some of the ‘unadoptables’ or end of life cats. New and seasoned pet owners often ask her for advice. We are delighted to welcome Joyce to our team as a guest writer to share a tip or two far and wide with a few tales of her rescue and rehoming journey along the way.

Sometimes there’s a misconception about shy and afraid Cats being ‘feral’. We’ve had cats come into our care that are untrusting that need time to trust again, we never know what they’ve been through before and it’s unbearable to think they could have been abused at the hands of a human. Adopting a cat that may still be a work in progress shouldn’t be off putting. It takes time and a little bit of effort that will pay off in the long run. One of many many reasons we advocate keeping cats indoors or building a cat safe enclosure in the garden. The kitty involved was lost for a while only then to be found set alight in a wheel bin by some vile people who are yet to be identified.

An RSPCA inspector found herself in tears after she was called to pick up a cat that is thought to have been deliberately set on fire in Basingstoke.

International Women’s Day, recognises women’s incredible achievements, raises awareness and encourages others to advocate for gender equality.

Be grateful and celebrate the women in your life every day, not just today. Collectively, there’s no mountain we can’t move.

FOR ADOPTION: Binky was rescued from a terrible environment living as a stray cat and abused by passers-by and as a result, she remains timid and will not be touched. She will, however, give you love blinks from afar.

She’s been in rehabilitation with a foster, for over a year and comes out of her shell where she will happily entertain herself and meow to communicate with the two people, she’s familiar with, she will only meow as part of a soft conversation -usually in the mornings when she’s been left to sleep/play for the night. She likes to maintain a routine and if anything is new, she’ll make sure she carefully checks it out. Her trust in humans was broken so she’s a work in progress, but worth every second! The foster parents have focused on creating a safe environment for her to make sure she feels comfortable and not pestered, the ideal home will appreciate this and must be experienced with handling abused cats.

ACEEL & SAMMY: They were rescued from very unfortunate circumstances which required compulsory eye surgeries to save their life. Thanks to ResCat Bahrain, they are now in a much better place in their lives and are ready to fly from to their forever home with no other pets or children. Sammy is blind and Aceel has one eye, but this doesn’t stop them yelling to tell you when they want their treats and food! They are strictly indoor cats, suitable to a home that are knowledgeable in feline behaviour and can provide them with a safe environment, and doesn’t mind the “feed meeeeee” chorus being sung through the day. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The pair of them spend their entire day lazing about, curled up on a blankie together and sunbathing by the window. They are quite vocal when they’re hungry and have a great appetite.⁣⁣
⁣
The ideal family would need to be very patient and one that wants to complete their rescue story. You’d need to be well versed in handling cats, not necessarily one with disabilities as patience and compassion are the main qualities you will have to give these two the best chance at living their best life to the fullest. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Aceel and Sammy will require time to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings that are accommodated to their needs. Being afraid of people, they will require time to bond with their family at their pace, these are not lap cats but have the potential to be.

World Spay Day is an opportunity to remind EVERYONE that spaying and neutering pets is important. As a policy, we do not adopt out any unsterilised Cats, therefore all of our adoptable kitties will be a minimum of 6 months old, sterilised, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

If you’re looking to adopt locally or from abroad, make sure your new furbaby is sterilised. It’s the rescuers duty of care to make sure the rescue kitty is leaving their care fully sterilised in the effort to help control pet overpopulation and decrease the number of homeless Cats globally.

LOLLY – LOVES YOU ALREADY

Lolly is waiting for the right person to choose her so she can fully blossom and open up to a loving person. She has changed foster homes twice in the past 7 months which has been a little unsettling for her. The next move will need to be a loving person who can be patient and wait to be accepted at her pace. She would do well to join a family with other cats (maybe dogs), but not essential. Ideally a single person, a couple would be best suitable. INDOOR ONLY.
