This is Sammy. He has been swimming with us for around 2 years. He was found abroad, having been in a road traffic accident, and was left with almost no mobility in his hind limbs.
After a lot of hard work in the pool, physio and a lot of determination from his owner (as Sammy is very stubborn), we can all see what he has been able to achieve. We are so proud of him!

Meet Percy, a 7yr old Brussels griffon here for weightloss and exercise in a safe controlled environment. He wasn’t very confident to start with so needed someone with him to build that. After just three sessions his confidence has grown to enjoy his time in the pool with us. He now has a lot of fun without realising he is here to exercise.

This is Monty, he will be 13 years old at the end of the year.
He has been swimming with us for most of his life, for various reasons, but the most serious issue is his elbows.
When his condition was first diagnosed, the vets gave him a very poor outlook- but his owners were determined that he was going to live the best life possible- and he really has!
They do their best to keep his weight under control, make sure they manage his pain, and let him exercise for as much or little as he can manage.
And of course, they bring him to hydrotherapy, which is one of his most favourite things in the world!
He can only manage 15-20 minutes of land based exercise, but he can quite happily do 40 laps in the pool because he isn't weight bearing on his joints. He has so much fun that he behaves like a naughty puppy afterwards. We love seeing his happy face in the pool- he always makes us smile 😁

This handsome man is Chester. He is an 11 year old Hungarian Viszla who swims with us to keep his joints supple, maintain his muscle mass, and he just happens to think it's excellent fun. Non weight bearing exercise is beneficial for all dogs, but especially older dogs, who can't perhaps do the longer walks they were used to.

We have all shapes and sizes in our pool!
Meet Fozz, a 2 year old Newfoundland, who swims with us on a regular basis to maintain his muscles and fitness and hopefully to prevent injuries.

Meet Phineas (Fin), an almost three year old with elbow problems. He did an initial block of ten sessions to build up his muscle. His owner saw a big improvement and he was a lot more comfortable. Sadly after a couple of months of no treatment the owners had noticed some deterioration, so have decided to bring him back to hydrotherapy. He has been back to the vets for a check up and his elbows have deteriorated but his owners and vet would prefer to try conservative management. The videos below show him walking the day before and the day after hydrotherapy. The owners have seen a dramatic reduction of his limp and he is a lot more comfortable and mobile after having been back for a few sessions on a weekly basis.
