both turning into good strong fillies with lovely temperaments and easy to handle.

Here at Burrow View Farm Stud we have two yearling fillies available, Darcy (Bay) is our homebred & Fern (Grey) was purchased to accompany Darcy at weaning - we like to ensure our young horses always have company of a similar age.

Darcy - already standing at 15.2h, by Plantuer, out of our mare Secret Door, a high class hurdler rated at 128 who’s first foal sold at Goffs, went on to an Irish point to point beaten only a head into third and re sold at £72,000 (a very nice individual by Saddlers Rock)

Our other filly Fern - standing just over 15h, by Dragon Dancer out of The Full Sister.

Both of these fillies have been well handled, proving good to deal with both in the stable & hand walked on the road.

🐎 Two year old by Geordieland ex Viking Treasure Gelding, from the family of multiple Grade 1 winners Viking Flagship and Flagship Uberalles

He is the third foal out of Generous mare Viking Treasure. His second dam is a sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 2 placed Hell’s Bay. This colt’s third dam is Queen’s Flagship, a sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Flagship Uberalles and a half-sister to fellow multiple Grade 1 winner Viking Flagship.

He moves well, and has a lovely easy nature.

The colder drier conditions has given us the opportunity to cut our hedges. ✔️

At this time of year we have a small flock of sheep graze half of the farm whilst many of our horses are housed during the winter months.

Although the weather has been cold here, the sun has been out beaming down on our beautiful setting.☀️

It has been another successful and busy twelve months for us. We have bred some lovely foals, broken in several youngsters and watched our progeny race with success.

We are lucky to have lovely spacious barns, so that when the winter weather is here to stay, our horses are kept in together in a very relaxed and communal environment with plenty of space. 👌

We have some new faces! 👀 These two weanlings were purchased from Nunstainton Stud last month. We will be posting more about them, as we begin prepping them for the January Sales at Goffs UK in Doncaster.

We have all had a taste of Autumn over the last few days, and for many of us this was in the form of a lot of rain over the weekend. We have not been exposed to much mud recently, and now it seems that overnight we have horses covered in it!

The horse’s coats will soon be changing as the animals adjust to the colder more unpredictable weather and the daylight decreases. However, the horses seem perhaps more comfortable in comparison to the very hot weather of early September.

We hope everyone has been enjoying this spell of very hot weather.☀️

Come rain or shine, here at Burrow View Farm Stud we are fortunate to have excellent facilities for our horses. Our big spacious barns are cool in the summer months and provide an excellent form of housing in the winter, ensuring our equine residents stay comfortable and healthy all year round.

We strive to provide a communal feel with open plan stalls within a barn set up, the horses are always relaxed and enjoy the company of others just the way that nature intended. 👌

“BETTY” our 3 year old filly by Geordieland going very sweetly in the school under Mark Quinlan of HQ Equestrian.

Betty is out of En Reve, who herself was placed on the flat. En Reve’s first foal has shown much promise being placed in only her first two runs, coming second both times out. 🌟

Betty is extremely smart, has a willing attitude, good confirmation and carries a very strong pedigree behind her, she is sure to be an exciting prospect for the future.💪
