Resorptive Lesions are a common dental condition in cats, affecting over half of all cats over the age of 3.

Gorgeous Serena visited Hadrian Vets for a dental procedure; after some dental x-rays, she was found to have many resorptive lesions.

It is characterised by tooth resorption and can only truly be diagnosed through the use of dental X-rays, although sometimes subtle signs can be seen on physical examination. Dental X-rays help to determine the treatment required for the affected teeth.

The cause of resorptive lesions is still unknown, which is why it is important for cat owners to monitor their pets and attend annual check-ups. On extracting these affected teeth, Serena now has a lovely set of pearly whites. 🦷

Thank you to Hadrian Vets for today's educational lesson and for taking such good care of Serena. 💛

What a name 🥰
Happy everyone 😽

This handsome lad is Mayonnaise, who belongs to Penbode Pet Veterinary Surgeons student vet nurse Kayleigh.

He popped in today to practice for a scale and polish to clean his teeth. Dental disease is a common problem and is thought to affect 85% of cats over three years of age. Understandably, cats' teeth can be tricky to brush. However, diet, supplements, and regular vet checks can ensure your cat has the best dental health and hygiene.

Happy International Cat Day, everyone! Let's all and give them the best life they most deserve. 💛

Cutest photo ever? 🤔 Perhaps! 🥰

Beaver the Guinea Pig visited Charter Veterinary Surgeons, Congleton recently for neutering. Here, he keeps warm whilst being monitored after his procedure and then enjoys a snack when he feels less sleepy.

Did you know... Guinea Pigs are social animals and should live with at least one other Guinea Pig for company. Males should be neutered if kept with a female or due to fighting if kept with another male.

Don't worry if you hear strange noises coming from our consult rooms. It's just us trying to get 7 puppies to all look at the same time (and failing)!

Can you guess the breed of Novas puppies?

They are indeed, Spitz puppies! Well done to the correct guesses in the comments 😊

☀️⚠️ SPOTTING HEAT EXPOSURE IN YOUR PETS 👇

Many dogs get heatstroke when their owners take them outside during high temperatures. Let's prevent heatstroke by knowing when it's safe to take your dog outside. Please get in touch with your local vet practice if you think your dog might have heatstroke! Remember to keep your pets hydrated and give them plenty of shade.

Panting in hot weather is normal, but these are the six symptoms you should never ignore if your pet has been exposed to the heat are shown in the graphic. Contact us immediately if your pet shows any of these symptoms.

*Please be aware that a mild form of these symptoms can be normal after exercise. If you’re unsure, please contact us for advice.

Enjoy the sunshine, but please keep tabs on your pets ❤️

🐶Biscuit the Cocker Spaniel swallowed part of an e-cigarette 😲

Her owner was worried when Biscuit started vomiting and wasn’t eating, so brought her in to see the team at The Shearbridge Veterinary Centre.

After an X-ray revealed an unusual square shaped object with holes in her abdomen, likely part of a rubber seal from a v**e, Biscuit underwent a delicate 2-hour operation to carefully remove the item.

Thanks to the skills and expertise of the team, Biscuit was back home the same day and made a good recovery ❤️‍

✅If you think your pet may have swallowed something they shouldn't have, seek immediate advice from your vet as it could result in internal damage which can be fatal.

We’re inspiring the next generation of farm vets!🌟🐮🐑

16 final year veterinary students were invited to attend the Summer Farm Vet Academy to find out what it takes to be a farm vet.

The three-day course was filled with practical sessions and engaging discussions led by farm vets from across our practices and was a fantastic opportunity for students to get a real insight into what it's like working in our farm practices.

🔗To find out more, head over to our website: https://bit.ly/4d54X3E

👀If you’re a final year student and are looking for your first practice role, we also have graduate programmes available across small animal, farm, equine and mixed practice.

Head to https://www.vetpartners.co.uk/graduates/ to find out more or you can pop an email to [email protected] with any questions!
