Summer Fun at HKM Dogs!

As we know most of you will be off on your holidays (we're not jealous...), we're running our Hoopers, Flyball and Trick Training classes as Pay Per Session until the beginning of September, so no one has to miss out on having some summer fun with their dogs!

This is also a great opportunity to see if any of our classes are for you and your dog before commiting to a 6 week course!

Carrie-Anne Selwyn is the founder of Canine Hoopers World and also the host of the Canine Hoopers World podcast. She is also an international speaker on the subject of Hoopers.

We had the best time at the Summer Wellness Workshop today! The dogs (and handlers) were all brilliant, as was Carrie-Anne Selwyn 🤩 Today we learnt about being calm when other dogs are working and how to think about what we're doing with our feet - even Squidge concentrated!! The lovely Thistle got more and more confident as the session went on and had some nice bonding time with his mummy Carol Cannon 😍😍
Our next workshop is on Saturday 10th of August. There are still a couple of spaces so email us ([email protected]) if you'd like to come and play!

The Feral Flyers excelled themselves at their second ever flyball competition yesturday, bagging 2nd place!! All the dogs were amazing, especially considering the slightly manky weather and the busier atmosphere of a two ring tournament! Munchie made her debut and despite still not being remotely interested in tennis balls, happily ran up and down with four different handlers. Poppy and River were so much more confident this time round and both of them were complete superstars. Otis and Barney flew up and down and did some lovely crosses and Moss was brilliant in the morning races 😍😍😍 The whole team were brilliant, complete pros in the ring and at ring party! We're so proud of all of you and we can't wait for the next one (hopefully without gale force winds and torrential rain...) 💙💙💙💙

Our intermediate dogs were focussing on crosses this week with some brilliant results - all the dogs and handlers have worked really hard and it shows!! Special mention to our beautiful collie Pippa, who had a break through this week with some loose crosses - this is a massive step forward for a dog with a huge herding instinct - we had a little bit of stalking but she soon got over it and managed to run past a moving Moss! 😍🤩😍🤩

If you're looking for something a bit different to do with your dog this summer, check out our Summer Wellness Series, taught by the amazing Carrie-Anne Selwyn.

This will be a series of four workshops, running once a month, with each workshop incorporating different aspects of mental and physical wellness.

Each workshop will last 2 hours and will contain elements of:

Our very own Holly is BACK! We know you've all missed her while she's been busy having a baby, but from June, she'll be back doing what she loves best, teaching Agility to you lovely lot!

The amazing Diane Kasperowicz is coming back on the 28th of April to do another Scent Detection Workshop! The last one was brilliant so we're really happy Diane is returning to share her knowledge and passion for all things Scent Work with us and our lovely clients.

Dogs can be trained in areas such as explosives, drugs, man trailing, the list is endless. Doing this sort of training will build their confidence and improve emotional welfare, while strengthening their bonds with humans. It is incredibly fun for humans and dogs alike.

Our new flyball club got off to a flying start with our first training session yesturday. The dogs were all amazing but the highlight was the definitely the refreshments! Thank you to all our Feral Flyers for a great session, but special mention definitely needs to go to Carol Cannon - I'm not sure we're going to be able to top your beautiful cake! 😍😍We're really excited to get back to creating chaos and destruction in the lanes this summer 🤣
