A lovely day today down at my favourite showground, Malvern. It was a boys outing today and although only Albert was entered young Christopher came to cheer his brother on 😄
True to style Albert never let me down and was awarded 2nd in the open dog class ❤️🥳🏆🥈with many thanks to our judge Pat Trotter.

How time flies....this is 11 years ago at Leeds Championship Show and a younger me and Bernie 😄 Bernie must have been around 14 months old where as I'm 11 yrs younger than I am now 😉😂

A super day today at The Golden Retriever Club Championship Show. This time last year, Albert won his first CC at the show, and this year, he was taking part in the parade of Champions 🏆 such a proud moment 😊
Both Albert ~ Sh Ch Applecote Hearts Desire and Gina - Applecote Love In Disguise JW then rounded the day off nicely by being placed in their classes.
As always, it was lovely to meet up with friends from abroad and to see such a fantastic entry of quality dogs.

After a long break from the show ring for Gina it was great to finally have her back yesterday, making me proud by winning 1st in Open and later being awarded Best of Breed 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Happy and relaxed. Young Christopher and Clara had a lovely day out yesterday at the Midland Golden Retriever Club's open show. Still too young to enter the show but it was good to socialise them with the other dogs.

Today saw us at the West of England Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show. Our lovely Mia ~ Applecote Love Affair ~ moved up classes today and was shown in the Post Graduate B*tch class where she won a very nice 3rd place 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Thank you to everyone who sent messages of sympathy following Bernie's passing last week. You're all a lovely bunch and it is much appreciated. Bernie arrived home on Tuesday and is now at rest next to his brother Justin 💔💔💔💔 The house is quiet without him but I'm thankful that I have his grandson Christopher and grand-daughters Mia, Gina and Clara so a little bit of him still lives on ❤️

Grandad Bernie with Clara and Christopher ❤️ Bernie will be 12 in May and sadly old age has hit him like a train at full speed, he's not in the best of health so lots of tlc. Everyday is about making memories and whilst we look forward to seeing the youngsters grow our old ones are the most precious ❤️

Remember to follow the simple rule with puppies and exercise.....
5 minutes of exercise twice daily per month a live.

Lorsque vous accueillez enfin vos chiots de 10 semaines, veuillez garder cette image à l'esprit. Leurs os ne se touchent même pas encore. Ils marchent si joliment avec de grosses pattes souples et des mouvements bancals parce que leurs articulations sont entièrement constituées de cartilages, de muscles, de tendons et de ligaments recouverts de peau. Rien n'est encore bien ajusté ou n'a encore de véritable prise.

Lorsque vous les faites courir de manière excessive ou que vous ne limitez pas leur exercice pour les empêcher d'en faire trop pendant cette période, vous ne leur donnez pas la chance de grandir correctement. Chaque grand saut ou course bondissante et excitée provoque des impacts entre les os.
En quantités raisonnables, ce n'est pas problématique et c'est une usure normale qui s’opèrera.

Mais lorsque vous laissez le chiot sauter du canapé ou du lit, l’emmenez faire de longues promenades, vous endommagez cette articulation en formation. Lorsque vous laissez le chiot se déplacer sur des carreaux glissants , vous endommagez l'articulation.

Vous n'avez la chance de les faire grandir qu'une seule fois. Un corps bien construit est quelque chose qui vient d'un excellent élevage et d'une bonne éducation. LES DEUX, pas seulement un.

Une fois adulte, vous aurez le reste de votre vie à passer à jouer et à vous engager dans des exercices à fort impact. Alors gardez le au calme tant qu’il est encore petit et offrez lui le cadeau qui ne peut être offert qu'une seule fois.

Over the past week three of our puppies from the Christmas litter have now moved on to new adventures with their forever families. The past 8 weeks seem to have flown by and although it's sad to see them go we know that they all have bright and exciting futures ahead of them.
Little Noel is now called Charlie and already becoming accustomed to mud 🤣
JoJo is now called Jake and likes watching the TV and our very special Belle is now Honey. She is one very lucky pup because she has gone to live with her big sister Molly ❤️

We had a super day yesterday at The Golden Retriever Club 'Best of the Best' Gala Competition.
I was very proud to have qualified Albert ☆°~ Sh Ch Applecote Hearts Desire ~°☆ and to be invited to take part in this prestigious event, competing in the Best CC winner class. The day run along the same lines as a match so, two dogs competing against each other with a winner declared then that dog going against a new dog until eventually one winner is declared for each class. It was such a super event with beautiful dogs taking part. Huge congratulations to GRC committee for putting on a great day!!
