Baboons'Fan Club at the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary Baboons at WAMS have been rescued from all over Europe and the Middle East. Charity No 1076645.

Wild baboons in South Africa suffer from conflict with humans and our page will bring you news of this. We are located in the lovely Brecon Beacons National Park area of South Wales. The Park has been officially designated as a Geopark because of its unique geological formations. Formerly a traditional Welsh hill farm, the sanctuary now rescues and provides a home for many types of unwanted animal

s. especially primates, such as chimpanzees, baboons, spider monkeys, capuchins and marmosets
The Sanctuary is a registered Charity, No 1076645, and survives on donations and visitor admissions. VISION
To preserve the integrity of the Articles of the Charity in every aspect of the work we do here at the Sanctuary and to provide a quality service to our supporters without contravening the ethos of the Sanctuary. To provide an educational resource and visitor experience and make a significant contribution to the economy of the Upper Swansea and Dulais Valleys. MISSION STATEMENT
We intend to do our utmost to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need as far as we are able to accommodate them and provide them with a high level of care and quality of life. All animals in our care will remain here for the rest of their lives. We aim to continuously improve animal welfare by training and developing our staff and volunteers to their full potential. We intend also to constantly review and improve our facilities for visitors who provide the main source of funding. In this way we hope to maintain a balance between the ethos of the Sanctuary and the necessity for its economic viability and to provide our supporters with a comprehensive understanding of the factors governing the Sanctuary’s development.
