Ella’s (second) stifle injury is healing… slowly.

After recovering from a torn SDFT and annular ligament effusion, she tore her meniscus and medial patella ligament of the same leg in the field. 6 months later she re-injured the same meniscus and middle patella ligament.

It is important to have regular scans/x-rays/vet checks to monitor your horses progress and adjust the treatment and rehab plan accordingly.

Rehab plans need to be constructed to allow the horse optimal opportunity to heal in a safe and happy environment. You also need to factor in other management considerations such as EMS, osteoarthritis, temperament, etc to keep your horse healthy and happy along the way. A stressed horse will not heal effectively.

It can feel like an absolute minefield 🤯 …so if you are going through the same with your horse right now, you are not alone.

How much difference can one physio session make?

Well… lots!

While physiotherapy is not a ‘one stop shop’ or ‘once a year treat’, one single session can make your horse feel much more comfortable and improve their performance in whatever discipline, even if that’s happy hacking. It will also identify weaknesses or musculoskeletal issues before they become real problems.

So whether you feel your horse isn’t just performing or behaving at their usual level, they are returning to work after injury or time off or they haven’t had physio for a little while, it’s worth booking an appointment 📔🐴

INDIBA helping heal a splint ❤️‍🩹

Jack came in with a little splint on Saturday. On Monday it had had another knock and was triple the size and missing some skin.

2 INDIBA treatments later (Monday and Wednesday) and this is what we are left with on Friday.

He will continue treatments this week.

And then hopefully stay out of the wars 🤞
