Our mission is to link up travel companies to support dog rescue in their destinations by sponsoring shelters and inviting their staff and guests to support these inspirational volunteers with local welfare initiatives in any way which they can. By inviting tourists to get involved we hope that barbaric practises will become relegated to the history books. Puppy farms, dog fighting, random poisoni

ng and the dog meat trade is unacceptable in a civilised society. We encourage local communities to support the shelter volunteers and educate the young to become responsible adults who care for their own animals and respect other animals in their community. Hunters and farmers who mistreat and abandon their dogs must finally be outlawed. Dogs for Adoption

URGENT APPEAL FOR COLONEL AND RUFUS

These two lovely liver brothers are desperately in need of a new home or foster. They are currently located in Cornwall but can be moved.

The boys have always been together so we do not want to separate them. They are nice natured, have lived with other dogs and children. They are 6 years old. In recent times they had had no exercise so would like to go somewhere where they would get regular walks.

❤️ARIS - THE SUPER HERO❤️
Many of you remember Aris an original Ghost Dog who spent years incarcerated 24/7 in the hell hole of Lemnos dog shelter
Aris was adopted by Jo four years ago and they’re testament to how love and devotion can change these dogs’ lives forever.

Aris was once a severely shut down dog. He’s now a beacon for Ghost Dogs everywhere.

Last Monday Aris took on the BARKING MAD SNOWDON CHALLENGE and helped raise £5003 for his old shelter.

If we can raise another £1500 one of Starlight Barking’s long-time supporters will match our donations to make £13,000 and the dream of a new shelter will become a reality. A shelter built to EU specifications with a vet clinic on site!

Dogs teach us about living in the moment. While us humans often worry about shiny material things, money, status or future things that will supposedly make us happy that is of no concern to a dog.

I spend my life around dogs and they don’t care if you have designer shoes on, what car you drove up in or your job title.

They are though some of the happiest creatures I’ve ever met. The lesson is in there for us all.

As fast as we re-home 3 dogs another 4/6 puppies arrive. So many dogs are back incarcerated 24/7 those inhumane cages and desperate to be housed in the bigger spaces which we created. There only relief is when the volunteers arrive. Even the smallest donation really will make a huge difference to shelter life and if we can reach £6500 we have a kind sponsor who will double that! ❤️RESCUE HEROES of GREECE❤️ The volunteers in Greece have been true heroes working tirelessly to save the animals who have survived the fires and floods. Many animals have horrific injuries but they are now being cared for by many different charities. Our rescue friends at Saving Saints Rescue UK have offered to re-home some of the bigger dogs in this video and will be bringing them to the UK soon. It’s never easy to re-home the large breed dogs, especially if they need on-going medical treatment, so if you know someone with a big heart who is experienced with bigger breeds please do put them in touch with Tracey Turnbull There are no words to express how incredible these rescuers have been. They’ve worked together round the clock to find solutions for so many distressed animals. Enormous thank you to everyone- YOU ARE ALL TRUE HEROES!!! ❤️MEET KATERINA and ANGELOS❤️ Our 2 super heroes at Lemnos Shelter could not continue their inspirational work without the help of some of our amazing supporters. Please meet Katerina and Angelos who visit Lemnos Shelter every summer and spend time doing the very important work of socialising and helping us understand who will make the best dogs for families with young children. Back home in the UK Katerina has started fundraisers with her school friends and also acts as our unofficial PA keeping us on our toes reminding us of our re-homing targets which currently stands at 30 dogs ready and waiting to travel to their new homes as soon as we find them their perfect family. Now known as Neo, Willow and Kevin her pups spent 5 years at Lemnos Shelter before being adopted by wonderful families who brought them out of their shell in Summer 2020. They’re now all living the life in England. Lettie is absolutely gorgeous as you can see.
