‼️ RED Weather warnings have been issued. ‼️

Sadly, dogs go missing in stormy weather and some do not safely return home. 😔💔😭

Please consider whether it would be safer to keep your dog at home and avoid walking in stormy weather, dogs won’t mind missing one or two walks.

If you really must head out and are caught in the stormy weather here are some useful tips and advice;

‼️ Let someone know when you intend on heading out and how long you intend to be out for and where you intend to go and take your mobile phone with you and remember to stick to where you said that you will go and know that it’s completely fine to turn back and head back home at any point. ‼️

What you can do to safeguard your dog:
✔️check and assess your boundary fences are secure and that they won’t collapse in strong winds
✔️please 🙏 consider keeping dogs on lead in gardens, especially if boundary fencing is not secure
✔️ please 🙏 consider keeping dogs on lead while on walks
✔️ please 🙏 stay away from river walks and always keep dogs on lead if you must walk riverbanks
✔️ do not trust your elderly/obedient/deaf dog’s recall at the worst moment and let off lead during stormy weather. During a storm is the worst time to lose a dog, as drones which can be used to locate lost dogs cannot fly in bad weather … !
✔️ ***don't forget to make sure your dog’s ID chip details are up to date, and your dog is wearing collar with tag***
✔️ following these suggestions may avoid heartbreak 💔💔💔
