It's been a long, hard, busy summer, there never seems to be a minute for myself and holidays, what are holidays?
But today was a few well earned hours out and a visit to The Maelor Equine Events.. In-Hand showing , ah but who should we take...who would benefit from the experience----enter Tubby Tubster, cheeky, naughty, attitude...yes we are all mad.... He objected to being washed, groomed and being stabled, however, he loaded into the horsebox without batting an eyelid.
He must have been the smallest pony there, but what a little star he was, with our Janie in the driving seat "so to speak" he amazed us all, the little devil.....Once home he galloped across the field where all his little friends rushed to meet him and hear about his big adventure. Here are a few photos of the day. Love Pam x

Well, you can take the girl away from the farm, but you can't take the farm from the girl...So today I was doing my tractor driving. I love my New Holland tractor and perhaps I should have been wearing my New Holland overalls 😊😊 Love Pam x

Horses, they are in your blood, or so they say, maybe a gene that flows through your veins, where does it come from, I don't know, but the love of the horse is all consuming, it takes over your life...
I had the pleasure of meeting Hilary Talmage' Son and Daughter who wished to visit our wonderful sanctuary in memory of their recently passed mum. They met some of our horses and was greatly impressed by the peaceful setting of our much loved sanctuary.
Hilary also had a great love for horses and spent a great deal of her life around them and we have a few photo's to share in memory of a fellow horsewoman. God bless, Hilary, and thank you for your donation in support of the welfare of the horse. And to Hilary's family we are most sorry for your loss and send you our sincere condolences. Love Pam x x

Not just soggy socks today, but a thorough drenching...You have just got to love the Saturday kids. After the work was done, into the education room with Helen and a lesson on points of the horse and teeth......

Todays pony up-date is Wren, again from the "big" recue who came with Titch and Chaz. Sadly Wren suffers from Sweet Itch and has to wear her special coat and hood. However she has been well handled , been on on traffic training and for trips down the river with the kid's club. Such a cute little girl who just wants to be friends. We would love for her to find a new forever home with a loving family. Love Pam x

I think it is welly weather now after todays downpour and more to come, soggy socks are really uncomfortable...oh well it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Ralph and Sooty haven't come out of their shelter all day, Ralpg doesn't want to get his hair wet..........
Here we have photos of Chaz another one of the ponies that came from a large case, he was a little weak in his hind quarters and slow to to catch up, but still just a baby. He too is now 3 years old and has been out and about gaining experience of the big outside world. We are hoping that he will be re-homed in the future as a companion/family pet. He is such a little cutie and very friendly. Love Pam x x

Our Fab Sanctuary

The H.A.C.K. Horse Sanctuary is a Rescue-Rehabilitation-Education Centre that is dedicated to the welfare of the horse.

Founded in March 1992 by Pamela Bluck it has grown from strength to strength into a successful small charity (no. 1025157). H.A.C.K. are also full welfare members of the National Equine Welfare Council, which means we have been fully inspected and passed the high criteria and standards that are required.

H.A.C.K. is unique in the fact that it is run entirely by volunteers who really are dedicated to the welfare of the horse. H.A.C.K. is fortunate in having Prof Derek Knottenbelt as advisor who has been of great support from the very beginning and also the late Graham Capper, law advisor and supporter, greatly missed.

H.A.C.K. also works within the community in many different ways from educational school visits, care home visits, Duke of Edinburgh awards, Saturday kids etc.
