Our gorgeous boy Reginald is ready for his forever home 💙

💙Here are some fun facts about him 💙

Name: Reginald aka Reg the Ledge

How old are you? 3

💙Are you scared of anything?
I don't particularly like the scooters that zip past the front of the house but I soon tell them!

💙Do you have a favourite toy or thing to play with?
I love all toys but you'll need to alternate them when playing fetch because I'm not giving them up easily.

💙What’s your favourite things to do?
Eat... cuddle.... trump.... cuddle..... snore..... cuddle.... ooooh big stick!.... cuddle..... oooh treats!..... cuddle.... snooooooreeeee 💤

💙Do you like other dogs?
Yeah! When they're nice to me. My foster bruv is awesome. Foster sis is a bit of a Diva 🙄

💙Do you like cats?
Haven't paid much attention to the one or two I've seen around here. Seem a bit boring

💙Name something you do that makes your FM/FD smile or laugh?
FD thinks I'm the best sidekick and fishing buddy. FM thinks my warthog sounds, accompanied by my wiggle are hilarious and secretly she finds my stubborn streak charming

💙Do you like going in water/Bath?
It doesn't phase me. Not particularly interested in the sprinkler though.

💙Tell us something you get in trouble for?
Begging for food. If you're making food, I want some! Pretty please and I'll give you extra cuddles

💙What's your best trick?
I don't do tricks, i'm just magical!

💙Have you got a bestie?
Winston Foster Bruv is a good sidekick and FD is pretty cool.

💙Do you like car rides?
Yeah I'm pretty chilled. Even more so if you let me ride shotgun 😎

💙Do you snore?
FM says Like a hippopotamus 🦛

💙Are you a good dog?
Of course! I am the best!! I'm funny, intelligent, charming, witty... what's not to love! 🤪

📣THE HOME ANNOUNCEMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR 📣

🏡 Esme is home 🏡

🎉 Its happy tears all around as we are now able to announce that Esme is very much home 🎉

Esme came into foster back in January after being found in a cold and damp outhouse. She came with nothing , not even a name 😞.
Esme was suffering from a skin infection, ear infections and was very underweight. She also had to have an emergency spay due to pyometra , she was a very poorly little girl. 💔

Esme’s foster journey was far from easy , she was understandably very frightened and it took her a long time to decompress and trust that she was now safe and loved 💕

We never gave up on beautiful Esme, she captured all of our hearts and we all desperately wanted the very best for her. We worked closely with her foster and after lots of medical treatment , training , love and understanding she blossomed into the most wonderful Bulldog we all knew she could be.

Esme now has her happy ever after. She was picked up by her new parents Lorna and Kevin on Monday and we are thrilled to announce that she is settling in beautifully 🥰.
In true Esme style she has been testing the boundaries but is learning quickly ❤️

We would like to say a massive thank you to Esme’s amazing foster mum Kelly, you never gave up and showed her the love and understanding she so desperately needed. You have worked incredibly hard to prepare her for her forever home and we will never be able to thank you enough for everything you have done. You really have been her guardian Angel. Thank you from the bottom of all our hearts ♥️ ❤️ ❤️

So will you all please join us in first thanking Kelly and then congratulating Lorna and Keven on the adoption of their beautiful new girl. We are so happy she has settled well and will be living her very best life from now on 🥰

To Esme , congratulations darling. You have captured the hearts of so many and we all wish you the very best and happy life , filled with lots of fun, love and adventures. 💕
Make lots of memories and enjoy every second of your happy ever after 🥰 🥰

24/08/2024

Dogs name: Dolcie
Age: 1 years old
Current location: Birmingham, Midlands.
I CAN LIVE WITH
Children: Older 10+ Dog savvy
Cats: No.
Dogs: Calm and passive dog (no smaller breeds).

A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Dolcie is a very bright young girl, with lot’s still to learn.
She is easily excitable, with a playful and cheeky nature and so full of affection for her humans.

Behaviour:
Dolcie is a highly active little girl, who can have hyper over excitable moments that will need managing.
Dolcie can’t be crated, unfortunately she associates a crate negatively, it creates anxiety for her, and she will not settle.
Dolcie can be over stimulated by excitable behaviour, so a calm environment is best for her, this will change as she settles, matures and has firm boundaries in place.

Needs:
Dolcie needs a calm but active environment, with a family who understands her needs.
A family who are dedicated and committed to continue her training.
Any dog in the home would need to be laid-back and tolerant of a young excitable dog.

Walk/exercise:
Dolcie needs daily walks, she is an active young girl, and this will help with her training and keeping her excitability down.
Dolcie walks well with company and alone, and she does enjoy meeting new dogs and people whilst out.
Recall is good unless there are distractions, then she has typical bulldog recall.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Dolcie is a very good girl.

Travel:
Dolcie loves to travel in the car, she will need a seatbelt harness to make sure she is secure.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location.

Things to be aware of:
Dolcie will be rehomed on a “to be spayed” contract she will be recalled at 18months to be spayed at a vet of the charities choosing with costs covered by the charity.
As Dolcie is entire she will not be rehomed with any entire males.
Dolcie has had surgery for cruciate ligament rupture, she has had the torn ligament removed as her knee joint is stable.
Vet’s must be made aware that Dolcie doesn’t react well to anaesthetic or sedatives, it takes her much longer to come round.
Dolcie hasn’t a bad bone in her body and shows no malice towards other animals. But she is not suitable to be rehomed with small breed dogs, as she could cause injury during rough play.
Sometimes Dolcie is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over. None of this is in malice, she just
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:
Dolcie’s life before GBSR was sheltered, she had very little contact with the outside world, so a lot of environments and experiences are still new to her. Dolcie has such a joy in her heart that you just can’t help but fall for her cheeky charms.
Dolcie’s adoption donation fee is £550 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Dogs name: Reginald
Age: 3 years old.
Current location: Loddon, Norwich.
I CAN LIVE WITH
Children: Yes, dog savvy.
Cats: Untested
Dogs: Yes.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Reginald is a wonderfully well-balanced boy, he has a beautiful, affectionate and playful nature, with humans and dogs alike.
Reginald adores adults and children always wanting to be at your side.

Behaviour:
Reginald is a submissive boy; he can be very playful but responds very well to being told no by the other dogs in the home and he will seek his human for reassurance.
Reginald loves a bit of rough play, again is responsive when being told enough and settles quickly.
In typical bulldog fashion, he does have the occasional stubborn moments.

Needs:
Reginald is suited to the majority of home environments, but he will thrive in an active family home, with children and a resident dog to keep him company.
A garden is a must as he loves nothing more than sunbathing.
Reginald will benefit from a laid-back and playful dog in the home to teach him the ropes and to keep him company when his humans are away.

Walk/exercise:
Reginald loves his walks; he walks very well alone, or he is happy to walk alongside other dogs in a pack.
Reginald isn’t interested in unfamiliar dogs whilst out but is happy to be approached he will simply ignore them and walk away.
Reginald does struggle with exercise in the heat, so it is imperative that he isn’t walked for any longer than 10mins a day and only in the coolest time of day.

Toilet trained:
Reginald is a very good boy.

Travel:
Reginald travels very well,

Things to be aware of:
Reginald may need BOAS surgery in the future this will be the financial responsibility of his new family. It is important that Reginald’s weight is controlled, and he isn’t allowed to become overweight or obese as this will exacerbate his breathing issues.
Reginald is being neutered on the 5th of September, once he has healed, he will be ready to go home which is usually around 10 days after surgery.
Sometimes Reginald is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:
Reginald has stolen the hearts of the whole of GBSR’s team. This well rounded, stubborn amazing boy is everything you could ever want from a bulldog. If you are looking for that missing piece of the puzzle? Look no further as Reginald is the dog for you!!
Reginald’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

We have a very special home announcement coming tomorrow 🙌🏻

applications on hold.

Update from dukes foster mum 💙

Some of you may be aware that duke needs surgery, he needs to have his fold removed and it isn’t something the charity have taken lightly, previously they have tried everything; the extent of his vet notes and what he has previously gone through is unbelievable. But his health comes first; his eyes will be corrected to as currently there is too much on show which is why it’s leading to so many issues.
This boy in the last 2 weeks has been to the vets 3 times a week, due to an ulcer and dry eye, fluid leaking from his eye, yet he hasn’t stopped being his happy self. I have to put eye drops 3 times a day, but 3 sets of different eye drops! IMAGINE! Someone constantly trying to put stuff in your eye, he never flinches or cries or anything, he lets me. He’s such a little darling and I’ve been so lucky to help him.

We absolutely adore him, we know his fans love him too. we are raising funds for his surgery - please help us. We have set up a group walk in Nottingham, message me or comment for details. And please see the below link to help raise funds - we appreciate the support as ever!

❤️ dukes currently FAST ASLEEP! Snorting his head off so I’m gonna go do his eye drops 😂😂

Please join us in welcoming the incredibly handsome to our Geordie Bullies family! 🐾

is a 2-year-old male whose family is heartbroken💔 to have to rehome him.

They reached out to us through a kind lady 😇who helps find rescues for families and dogs in need.

After speaking with Otis’s family, we knew we had to do everything in our power to help🥺.

Otis’s dad is battling terminal cancer and was deeply worried about ensuring Otis’s needs would be met after he could no longer care for him💔💔💔.

With heavy hearts, the family decided that finding a new home for Otis was the best way to ensure his happiness and well-being😭.
The thought of Otis ending up in a harmful situation was unbearable for his dad😢. He couldn’t bear the idea of his precious boy being lonely or unloved💔.

We couldn’t stand by and let this family worry about both their dad and Otis, so we stepped in to help🙏.

A huge thank you to Trish Plaister and Mandy Carpenter🙏🙏🙏 for collecting Otis and transporting him to Kerry Warren and her family in the South West.

Kerry, welcome to your first foster journey with us, and thank you so much for opening your heart and home to this precious boy💖.

Otis is settling in well, though he was understandably stressed at first😢. Kerry is taking things slowly, helping him explore his new environment and family❤️‍🩹.

We hope that by helping Otis, we can bring some peace to his family, allowing them to spend their remaining time together without worry🙏🙏🙏.

Our hearts go out to you and we promise we will do everything to find him the very best family. He will only ever know love and happiness with our GBSR family💖💖💖.

Welcome to Geordie Bullies!

Thank you for visiting our page and wanting to learn more about us. Geordie Bullies is a breed Specific English bulldog Rescue. The Rescue was founded by Helen Edwards and Clair Knox both from Newcastle who both are very passionate about the breed we know and love. The charity was formed in 2016 when Helen and Clair recognised that there was a huge amount of bulldogs being sold or given away due to breed related issues, those being used as a commodity and were at risk.

The charity at present has over 80 volunteers/fosters around the UK. We are a non profit organisation and rely solely on donations from the public to rescue and rehabilitate the bulldogs in our care. We only use foster homes for our bully babies. Every bulldog that arrives with us is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed and micro-chipped before it is re-homed.

To learn more about Geordie Bullies and to see our dogs in foster, go to www.geordiebullies.net
