🐾ENRICHMENT FOR OUR DOGS 🐾
To keep our dogs happy and and healthy, mental enrichment is super duper important. Providing enough enrichment helps promote calmness and good mental health for our dogs, which is really important in such such a hectic, busynabd loud world our dogs have to live in.
What is enrichment?
Enrichment is anything that enriches our dog's lives for the better, so this includes sniffing, digging, licking and engaging in activities that our dogs enjoy that use their senses. Providing enrichment in their day to day lives is crucial. Otherwise, dog parents may start to see various mental health and behavioural issues crop up from the lack of using their special doggy senses.
How can I provide my dog with enrichment?
Enrichment is really easy to provide for your dog. Depending on their age and breed, enrichment activities may consist of some of the following:
✨ Scattering their meals in the garden for them to sniff out, rather than feeding them from a bowl.
✨ Filling a puzzle toy or a food dispensing toy with some treats or their meals.
✨ Freezing some yoghurt or peanut butter on a licki mat.
✨ Hiding some treats in a rolled up tea towel for them to get out.
✨ Providing your dog with their own sand pit for them to dig in.
There are lots and lots of activities your dog can do that they will find incredibly enriching!
So...Onto the important question. Is your dog getting enough enrichment? 🤔
The answer will vary for each dog. But a good baseline rule is to aim to fill 15-20% of your dog's day with exercise and enrichment! This will ensure that you're supporting your dog's mental and emotional wellbeing with dog-specific activities that will enrich their lives for the better.

Yesterday a few of the team visited St. Giles Animal Rescue to donate a whopping 52kg of treats and chews to the lovely dogs there! They were lucky enough to meet a few wonderful residents, all of whom are currently looking for their forever homes; beautiful Susie the British Bulldog and Dizzy & Chesney the Greyhounds 🥰. A big thank you to the staff who do such an amazing job at taking care of these lovely souls, and our customers for helping us donate to rescue centres!
