Isn’t that a beautiful sight?

Mummy Leavitt has this sorted and there are 4 fat little Stenchies guzzling themselves silly at the milk bar. Yes, 4 - one is tucked underneath by her chin. Good work Mummy!

10 days old and we have some small slits starting to show where they will peak out at the world. Exciting!

🐶 🧡KRYPTON… is STILL looking for her forever sofa 🐶 🧡

I was found as a stray with a few other dogs. I was very underweight but my current foster family has helped me gain some weight and I am vet checked and ready to find my forever home 🏡

❤️I am between 1-2 years old.

❤️I will be fully vaccinated.

❤️I love soft toys and blankets and will get cosy with a blanket wherever I see one. I like to squeeze in small spaces when your are on the sofa and cuddle up with you nice and tight.

❤️I love the outside and choose to be outside as much as I can. No matter the weather.I like to walk and my recall is great. I really look forward to my walks.

❤️I love sleeping on the sofa.

❤️I am very inquisitive.

❤️I sleep well in my crate at night.

❤️I am house trained.

❗️Only dog home or larger dog companion-I am learning manners when I play because I am still young.

❗️I can be nervous around lots of people I need some help to find my confidence.

❗️I am not keen on hoovers- but I am young and need support to learn they aren’t that scary.

❗️I am not keen on lots of traveling in the car- but with the right human to teach me I might not be so scared.

❓ 🐱 Cats- untested- I am not interested in them when passing them on my walks.

My Adoption fee is £450 for endless cuddles and snuggles 🥰

I see that we had some spurilous spam on a few posts last night, swiftly dealt with by the admins.

Phoenix French Bulldog Rescue is run in full compliance with the Charity Commission’s regulations and our accounts are submitted and verified by a chartered accountant, who is in no way related or connected to the charity or any Trustees, some of whom are indeed related but approved. These accounts may be seen on the Charity Commision website at any time.

No comparison should be made between us and any other rescue charity, breed-related or not. And certainly not one that is also run by related Trustees.

If anyone has joined this group simply to make trouble for whatever reason, or does not like how we operate, many other rescue charities are available and the ‘leave group’ button is very easy to use.

My own self-discipline is being sorely tested in trying not to say much, much more but I will not be drawn into these petty games. Could all mindless keyboard warriors who have never walked in the shoes of running a rescue please find that button to leave right now. Play your childish games elsewhere.

Phoenix Sanji, Léa, has been helping to unwrap some of the lovely goodies that you wonderful people have sent for the Stenchie Beans from our Wishlist.

They have no idea how very lucky they are, but little Lèa is enjoying the wrappers very much!

Thank you!

By Jove, I think she has sussed it!

Leavitt loves and protects her babies - ferociously, if other dogs appear - but feeding them was a bit hit and miss. We had been feeding them by bottle and trying to get her to top up, and it was exhausting.

Then, we moved onto me taking one at a time onto the sofa, her showing interest, cleaning them, then allowing them to suckle with persuasion and gentle encouragement from me. Times 4. Times 4 x 2-hourly. Also exhausting. Until last night, when we had a break-through while I was sleeping on the office sofa between feeds; they squeak, she goes into the whelping box to clean them, then gets out and comes to me, then back to the pen l, repeated as many times as it takes for me realise my help is needed. I then take the pups from the box and put them into the pen that the box is in, she cleans them, again, and allows them to latch on and suckle. As long as I stay put and oversee it. Hurray!!! And she does look very content. I think she may find the box too warm, as it has heat pads and a heat lamp.

This is a huge break-through, but she is just a baby too, she just needed a little guidance too. Phoenix Olifant wandered over to offer some maternal advice this morning. She was swiftly removed from the situation as her motherly help was not well received! Phoenix Sanji is being a complete pest, challenging Leavitt by play-bowing and barking at any opportunity - also been removed for her own safety. In fact, the only one of the Cargill Canine Clan she will tolerate in her sight is Phoenix Barnier, Vinnie. But even he gets told where to go occasionally, and he is sensible enough to go there!

And our little Stenchie Beans? Strong, vocal and greedy! They are doing very well, and weight-gain is steady and solid. Haricot, the boy with the blue collar, is the lighter one that looks as though he could be blue-fawn, but there is plenty of time for that to change.

No applications yet please, but if you are interested in taking on a puppy at some point, any puppy, please let your Regional Teams know.

Region S4 are delighted to welcome Hoover 🐾

This beautiful young boy found himself in the pound so Phoenix stepped in and brought him in to safety last week.

He is a lovely natured boy and everyone who has met him has fallen in love with him. Who can blame them with those eyes and little teefs 💓

Hello 👋🏼

My name is CALIFORNIUM 💕 I’ve had a pretty rubbish start to life but my foster mum saved me, showed me lots of love and has looked after me while I had an operation to remove my cherry eyes. You might notice they still look a bit red as I only had it done on Thursday!
Now I’ve had my operation, I’m ready to move to my forever home 🤞🏼
I have just turned 1 in December
I am lilac fawn
I am not neutered
I would prefer to be the only dog and get all the love as I haven’t quite mastered sharing all of the attention yet, however I may be okay with a calm neutured male who doesn’t want lots of attention as well.
I get on well with kids of all ages
I get on well with cats too
I still need some training as I never saw outside until just a couple of weeks ago
:( but I love seeing everything now!

Have you got a lovely sofa for me?

If you foster me for 2-3 weeks and fall in love, my adoption will be £450. I’m worth it, I promise 💕

Currently based in region 5 (Liverpool) therefore preference given to surrounding area or homes further out that are willing to travel

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Sadly, some Phoenix dogs have passed over the Rainbow Bridge either due to old age or illness. We have a page on our website in tribute to these dogs who are gone but definitely not forgotten.

If you have lost a Phoenix dog and would like to post a tribute on the page please email [email protected] with their story. Please also include their Phoenix Admin Name and a photograph if you have one.

Many thanks.

HAVE YOU ADOPTED A DOG FROM PHOENIX FBR?

We’d love to hear from to find out how they’re getting on. If you would like your adopted Phoenix dog featured in the Rogues Gallery on our website please email us their story - ie how they were when they arrived in their new home, how they settled in and what they’re up to now. Can you make sure that you provide their Phoenix Admin Name as well as the name that you have given them. If you can include at least one photograph as well this can be added to the post.

So many people see dogs offered for adoption but never get to see the end story so it would be lovely to have as many as possible to show what happens when a dog finds his/her forever home.

Please see below for some of the posts already live on the website.

Please email your stories to [email protected].

Many thanks.

Good morning!

I have survived the first night with the Stenchie Beans! Mr C has been a huge help and I have managed around 3.5 hours sleep, so I’ll be off for a nap soon while he takes over again.

Mummy Leavitt is much perkier today, back to being bossy with Phoenix Sanji and Phoenix Barnier if they get too close, and eating for her country and a few others. She has absolutely nailed keeping them clean, but they have to be brought to her and presented, as she won’t deign to enter the whelping box. I can feel a certain hostility from her towards her off-spring for ruining her youthful figure. Well, she can just go away and think on with that one because I am absolutely sure she led the Stafford on, and look where that has got her; a teenage single-parent! We’d have called her a gym-slip Mum a few years ago! Pierre may become an attractive option soon. I don’t doubt that the blue Stafford was a handsome beast, I have seen his photo, and she clearly likes them burly, but P is no small-fry and she may not want to raise these babies single-pawed, but it’s her choice.

On the other hand, mine, she is not doing too much raising just yet. She is still not keen to feed but we are managing to sneak the odd pup in for a feed here and there, and she allows it and has plenty of milk. We are supplementing with bottles and it is going well so far with very contented pups sunning themselves under their heat lamp. And we are not even 24 hours into parenthood yet, so she has plenty of time to come round. The cleaning is a tad excessive, but we can work with that.

I have been asked if we have a page or a fundraiser running for Mum and the pups; we don’t but we would welcome any donation into our bank account in her name, details below, or by Paypal, as that will help hugely with the cost of the c-section (£1500), or if you want to help with the pups we have an Amazon Wishlist for Maternity Supplies too: https://amzn.eu/8EuRAj9

Our Paypal link is: paypal.me/PhoenixFBR01 and I don’t think you have to have a Paypal account to make a payment with a card.

Thank you all for being so supportive to these babies, as always :-)

Once home Mum was more awake and let them suckle initially while she cleaned them a little too vigorously, but we managed that and all is well - they are VERY clean. She hasn’t been too keen to feed them again but does seem to think they need more cleaning, but it is early days yet. They have had a bottle feed which was guzzled down by all of them, they have good suckle reflex and are very strong. They are superb weights, doubtless helped by their sire, totalling nearly 1.2kg all together.

I am obviously delighted that they have arrived safely but it was not great timing. Today is the 1st birthday of my youngest Grandson, who I had the absolute privilege to see born at home last year. For many reasons that will take me too long to go into, he has the nickname ‘Bean’ which is what he was called as an embryo and it has stuck. So, as we missed his birthday celebrations with family today, we have name this litter of Stenchies in his honour, after beans :-) Let me introduce you:

HARICOT is the boy in a blue collar, the heaviest at the moment.

BORLOTTI is a little girl in pink, and she is the lightest, but is still a solid weight.

LUPINI is the heaviest girl and she wears red.

ADZUKI is honoured with Phoenix orange, another little girl.

All are blue, like their Dad, but in good light one is more blue-fawn but I will need to check again tmrw to let you know which one. It will be interesting to see how their colours develop as they grow. All have little tails, cute. We will get more photos in the next few days

And now the fun begins ....

INTRODUCING THE STENCHIES!!!

True to Frenchie form, after not being ready to do her c-section yesterday during sociable hours, then giving me a false alarm at around 6pm last night, Leavitt gave us a very sleepless night (early morning) from around 1.30am onwards with a little bit of nesting under the bed (several times), a few panting sessions that then stopped, and an awful lot of fidgeting on and off our bed. I knew it was the beginning of labour but held back, hoping we could get her safely into sociable hours. And we did!

By around 8am we knew it wasn’t a false alarm and Mr C and I toddled off a little later with a sleepy little girl (at least she knew how we felt!) to see our lovely vet and vet nurse, who were much amused at having not done the c-section during normal surgery hours yesterday, but that is just how these things happen sometimes. At least it wasn’t the small hours of the night for a change. And we were bang-on for timings, because just as I walked her outside before surgery we saw the tell-tale signs that things were about to happen (the ‘plug’ comes away and you get some discharging, all very normal).

Between 11.15am and 11.30am Leavitt was safely delivered of 4 very healthy and beautiful blue ‘Stenchies’! Yes, that naughty Stafford was definitely the Daddy, so we have little Frenchie cross Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Mummy had a full manicure and pedicure whilst waking up and soon came around for cuddles and fuss, well deserved too. The 3 girls and 1 boy were slugging around in the incubator making a HUGE amount of noise! That continued all the way home too.

⚠️Walking your dog in strong winds can be dangerous, please take extra care!

☁️Check the Weather: Before heading out, make sure conditions are safe. High winds and storms can pose risks for both you and your dog.

🛣️Choose Shorter Routes away from water: If you must go outside, opt for shorter, familiar routes that are well-protected from wind. Avoid open areas like fields or parks where there may be fallen trees or debris.

🔦Stay Visible: Stormy weather can make visibility poor, so make sure both you and your dog are wearing bright or reflective gear. A light-up leash or collar can also help.

🌳Watch for Hazards: High winds can blow debris, branches, or even rubbish into your path, so stay alert to avoid injuries. If conditions seem too severe, it’s always better to delay the walk and let your dog burn energy indoors!
