Only managed one walk today before calling it off. Sideways rain and very strong winds aren't fun to walk in! My wet weather gear was soaked.
Sheryl Crow
This is Sheryl. A longtime unofficial member of my pack. Been feeding her for 2 years almost!
Patience
Building trust with dogs means you have to take chances. Small groups, lots of supervison and open spaces help to achieve this. This is why you'll never see me with 7 dogs on my phone in a enclosed field for 30 minutes. Real results from a real dog walker.
Dunes
I wasn't expecting Milly and Orla to bring back the ball!
Super Cali
So pleased with Calis recall now.
Buddy
Buddy's recall is coming along well. Who said beagles are hard to train!
Long recall.
Cali is very fond of chasing birds right now. She can run as far as she likes, as long as she checks in and comes back to me. Good recall starts with letting your dogs run.
Cali come.
Cali is a only 8 months old and a large breed. I've been establishing trust and giving her space to run off lead and to be a puppy. She knows there's something nice waiting for her if she listens and comes back. It's working well.
Arlo Rustler
This doesn't look like much, but I've been training Arlo to come back to me with the sound of a rustling bag. Patience is the key, and I'm happy with her progress.
Recall
I've been working on Arlo's recall. I couldn't do this 2 weeks ago. Just takes patience, perseverance and the promise of a piece of chicken.
Jimbob
This is great. Jimbob is going deaf, so having him off lead presents some unique challenges. Great progress to get him to come to me with some commands and a reward at the end.
