The shelter only has two volunteers to look after the animals - this is 24/7 . For those of us not on Statia the way we could help is to try to find adopters/fosters/shelter places where we are for the Statia shelter dogs. Please help the shelter to stay open please network for the Statia dogs - any ideas however much of a long shot are welcome xx

*** URGENT - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ***

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we urgently need volunteers to help us take care of the animals at the shelter. We currently have 5 dogs, 3 puppies, and 4 cats at the shelter and just 2 regular volunteers to take care of them! We desperately need people who can help us feed all the animals (morning and afternoon) and walk the dogs. All the dogs are medium sized, super friendly and great with children (we have several young people who help at the shelter).

If you can help us, even just once a week, we would be very grateful, as we don’t know how much longer we can continue with so few volunteers.

There are lots of potential benefits:
- teach your children how to take care of animals,
- get a little exercise, walking the dogs,
- help out with a friend, and enjoy time together with the animals,
- get away from the stress of your daily routine, and cuddle a dog or cat (or both!)
- spending time with dogs or cats does wonders for your well being!

STATIA pups who are ready for adoption! They all have the necessary vaccinations (including rabies plus 21 days ) so can go off island to the US, Canada or Europe to find their forever homes. There might be flight es**rt options soon, so if you'd like more information please do ask. Please could you keep sharing - there has to be a forever out there somewhere....(nb. Jessy is reserved)

Flight es**rt needed -SXM to Paris- 19th -22nd Oct or 26th to 28th Oct. Air Caraibes preferred but also Air France to Paris is great. Patch's flight only had spaces for two dogs so he has given up his chance for the two bonded sisters. Patch has a family waiting for him in the UK. This is his chance of a forever life. Without pledges of shelter and adoption places and flight es**rts both Patch and the sisters would have had to have been euthanised by now simply for lack of space and resources on Saint Martin (the neighbour island to Statia). For the dogs they get their life, for the rescues on the island it also means the world to know that at least a few get the life they all deserved. Please keep sharing and networking if you can.

Are you traveling from Sint Maarten (SXM) to Paris CDG on Air France (or Orly), on Saturday, October 21st (arriving 22nd)? Alternatively, a flight on the 26th Oct Grand Case to Orly via PTP arriving morning of the 27th Oct.
Can you help this sweet shelter dog get to her new home?
All expenses paid. Jessy has an offer of adoption in the UK and we will meet her and you at arrivals. Jessy will travel in the hold (in the special animal area) so won't take up your room, no expense to you just a whole load of puppy love and knowing you've done a wonderful job.

Looking for a flight partner, going to Holland, for this sweet girl . All of her expenses are paid by the adopting family. SXM Paws will do all the paperwork and arrangements. All you have to do is take her with you. If you are going to Amsterdam and willing to be a flight partner contact us.

Pup parade! they're all ready for adoption and would love to find their forever homes. With the hurricane season fast approaching it would be great to try and find either 'forevers' or fosters either on Statia or abroad. We are very sorry but this puppy died very soon after it was found.

REMINDER: We have a spay/ neuter programme. If you want to get your animal spayed, please contact us on 318-1102.

This puppy, less than 2 weeks old, eyes still closed, was found on Hibiscus Drive, Chapelpiece area. The puppy urgently needs it's mother or it will not survive.

Rosie puppy made it to Devon! She is as sweet and some as we were told, a real ray of sunshine and a heart that loves to trust and make new friends. She is now at Woodside Sanctuary in Plympton and will be available to meet from Thursday. She is really bright and learns fast - she was great in the car, was clean in the hotel and greeted everyone beautifully. She doesn't have many commands yet but she's already learning 'come' and 'sit'. A real treasure, please network to find her her forever people (she loves children and was in foster with a cat)

I'm looking for an adopter for Rosie pup - can you help? She's from the Caribbean and I'll be meeting her on Sunday in the UK - she's in Paris at the moment. It may seem crazy that the pups are coming all this way - but actually it's really easy for them to make the journey - and it's the only way they will get the chance of the life they should always have had. For the volunteers on the islands it means the world that there are those of us abroad who will help where we can and that at least a few of their puppies and dogs make it. It's now the height of the hurricane season so even more scary for the little abandoned puppies and dogs who are waiting for their chance. We may not be able to save them all, but we can save some ###

If a foster/adopter can be found for Rosie then there is a chance she will be able to travel to Europe with Ivy in a couple of weeks. It is approaching the height of the hurricane season in the Caribbean so every dog that can be adopted gives a chance of survival to one that is on the street or the dump. Rosie's foster on SXM and her rescue person Jo both agree that Rosie would love a home with children as she adores her foster children. Pls keep networking for Rosie - it's hard for us to appreciate just how few resources and options there are for the shelters and rescues on the islands - they need us in Europe and the US to step up until the results of their spay/neuter campaigns kick in. These islands are still recovering from the devastating effects of Irma and Maria 4 years ago - the two biggest hurricanes to ever cross the Atlantic - old news for the media - still an everyday struggle on the islands.
