🐾 Phoebe's Story🐾 Day 5
How is Phoebe doing now ? - Just take a look below 🥰
Gradually day by day with the help of conditioning exercises, massage and eventually hydrotherapy, Phoebe has become stronger and stronger, with a few bumps in the road along the way. Almost three months later and Phoebe is almost back to herself and strong enough to have a play at agility that she loves ❤
Charlotte says she just takes one day at a time with Phoebe but she is very much back loving life ! She is so proud of how strong Phoebe has been throughout all of her illness she hasn't complained once ! An absolute warrior princess ❤
🐾Phoebe's Story 🐾 Day 4
Although Phoebe had started to eat by herself, she was very week and unable to stand. Phoebe needed to walked with a sling under her to support her weight and it was important that we kept her moving ❤
The following day Phoebe continued to make progress, she desperately wanted to walk but her co-ordination just wasn't where it needed to be, she struggled to stand without falling.
Phoebe continued to be walked with assistance and had massages to help her to fully regain her strength.
Below shows the video of Phoebe once she started to be able to walk again without the use of a sling, notice she is still being held just in case she stumbles. These guided walks are done with lots of encouragement and are lead by the patient however Phoebe's determination is amazing ❤🐾
🐾 Phoebe Story 🐾 Day 3
Once home from the Royal Veterinary College , Phoebe was very unsettled and was pacing around. Phoebe then began to suffer seizures so Charlotte rushed her straight back to our Upminster hospital.❤
Phoebe was placed on a constant rate infusion of an anaesthetic to control the seizures and allow the medications to start working.
Phoebe required constant monitoring, 24 hours a day. After a period of time, we could very carefully reduce the anaesthetic to allow her to start to become fully conscious again, by the following evening, this little warrior was well enough to start lifting her head and even managed to eat some chicken !
The video below is of Phoebe in our isolation ward ( the music on the ipad we play to a lot of our inpatients ❤ )
We didn’t fur…get it’s International Cat Day!

Look at this cute video of two of our taste testers Mumford and Paloma. Paloma loves her food so no surprise she ate it super quick ❤ Mumford although a bit slower licked the bowl clean too.
Mumford is 13 years old but very active. Paloma is a bit younger at 9 years, but she also enjoys her walks 🐾 Both dogs are already fed a raw meat diet however this was their favourite 🥳

Its Dexter's turn ❤.
This older gentleman belongs to our deputy practice manager, Sarah. Sarah says Dexter is super fussy with his food and needs encouragement to eat, he is more of a grazer. Dexter is 13 years old and enjoys being in his own company. He is quite a shy boy and certainly not one to get up in the morning for breakfast !🐾
However, Sarah said he seemed to like the food but it took him a while to eat it. He liked the Pork flavour the most ❤ Wylie Wellness Centre Brentwood

So now we have talked the benefits of raw food and how to transition your dog, what about feeding bones 🦴 we hear you say - watch our video below Wylie Wellness Centre Brentwood
***Bones should only be introduced after your dog has been fully transitioned to raw for 4 weeks ***

So fast forward a couple of days and what did Lando, one of our taste testers think of the new food?
Lando is a one year old french bulldog. He can sometimes be a bit fussy with his food and his human Ella, one of our front of house managers at the Wellness Centre has to warm his food or add some treats to encourage him to eat. Lando can sometimes leave his food then go back to it later. So Ella wasn't sure if Lando would be a fan of the new Nourished by Wylie food Wylie Wellness Centre Brentwood
However, Lando ate all of his food without hesitation 🐾❤

Bessie and Kedi four weeks into a raw diet - What has Katie noticed about the changes in them ? Wylie Wellness Centre Brentwood
"I never thought that changing their food could make so much difference in just 4 weeks, I almost feel bad for not doing it sooner
Physically, their teeth are visibly cleaner and their breath is improved; they have both lost weight; their ears are cleaner; Kedi has stopped licking his bottom; Bessie's coat feels thicker and softer; They both mault less and their poos are less smelly and about 1/3 of the size with a firm "easy to pick up " texture.
What surprised me more was their change in behaviour, feeding a raw meat based diet has genuinely improved Kedis' anxiousness, for example when he is on a lead walk he does not lunge at other dogs as often, he has a more sustained energy level and him and Bessie play more....They both seem happier dogs ...
From a new raw feeder point of view, I had no problem with the smell or serving of the raw food which I was concerned about. The storage is simple and to be honest once you get in the routine of feeding and remembering to get the next one out - it's easy! You just treat their meat, like you treat your own raw meat
From week 5 I will start to introduce bones and I will continue to monitor the amount I feed them, to ensure they get to the perfect weight and body condition score"
If you like the power of why and the details then take a look at the attached presentation. All the results of the tests are specific including poo test, brush test, blood test, vet assessments, ear and dental health - With an explanation of WHY a raw meat diet would make the difference written by Richard Doyle

So 5 days in .... Hows Bessie and Kedi finding the food? and what changes if any has Katie noticed in her dogs 🐾🐶
Nourished by Wylies 🐾🥩
Lets see what Bessie and Kedi think of the change in their food, their usual diet is dry kibble so this will be quite a change and of course it's important that the dogs enjoy their food ❤
