Merry Christmas to you all and to your beautiful fur-babies! πŸŽ„πŸΎ

Happy Christmas πŸŽ„πŸ€

A huge thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support regarding the closure next year, I know the paddock will be missed by many of you and I appreciate that it’s disappointing.

I have been inundated with messages asking if other people could take over the facility and if I would consider letting it out to anyone else etc.
I have replied to as many as I can but let me just make a statement about it here too; the facility will be handed back to my parents and they do not wish for it to continue to be open to the public, so please understand that it is not a simple matter of getting someone else to run it.
Whatever they/we decide to do with it in the future is at our discretion and honestly I don’t want to keep answering endless questions about it!
Please be assured that if we ever re-open the facility I will keep you all informed but at the moment it’s just best to keep things simple and close it to the public.

Also, I know that the hot water has been out of action for a while now- my apologies, it was an intermittent issue with the boiler but now it’s completely stopped working so we will try and sort it out asap. There is still running water- it’s just not the usual warm spa temperature that the pooches have previously been spoilt with! πŸ˜‚
Sorry! Hope to get it fixed for you soon.

I hope you, your family and your beautiful pooches all have a lovely Christmas ✨🀍

Please note:

If you are wanting to give Chalfont Dog Park a try in March then all you need to do to use the 20% discount is put PADDOCK20 in the comments box when you book. They don’t have an online payment booking system there- you pay by BACS transfer once you’ve made your bookings, so if you have booked March sessions then all you need to do is take 20% off the payment you make and put the discount code in the comments so Jess can match up the bookings to the payments.

Let me know if you have any questions- apologies for not making that clear in my email, I forgot that their system operates differently!

Dear All
I have sent a very important email out to everyone this weekend. I hope that you have received it.

I am deeply sorry to announce that the Paddocks will be closing from March 2025.

I know this will come as a complete surprise and I I am so sorry that I have not been able to contact you personally to discuss this- we have over 900 people registered on the website and unfortunately this is the easiest way to make sure that everyone receives the message.

You will be able to continue to make bookings as usual on the website up until March 2nd. As from March the website will be inactive.

Please do get in touch if you have questions or want to discuss anything further- I know that some people already have bookings in place for March onwards so these will be cancelled and refunded as soon as possible.

Thank you all so much, I am truly grateful for all of the support you have shown us since we opened 3 years ago, I know how much this facility has impacted some of you and changed your dogs lives for the better… so it’s not been an easy decision to make.

Please check the weather forecast for this weekend and reschedule your bookings accordingly if you want to…! Looks pretty miserable πŸ˜•

If you are visiting the Paddock in the coming week or have been here recently can I please apologise for the bonfire smoke that’s coming from the land behind and adjacent to our property. That land is not ours- it was sold off a few months back by someone else and the new owner has taken it upon himself to not only completely destroy the natural habitats for the wildlife but also burn all of the old hedge and trees he has ripped out.
Today the direction of the wind has meant it’s blowing right across the Paddocks and it’s really quite horrible. I have already had a few people complain or ask me what’s going on so I just want to publicly make it clear that is unfortunately out of our control and believe me we are just as upset and negatively affected by it as you are.
I’m so sorry if it causes any issues when you are here.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any more concerns.

NEVER give rawhide treats to your dogs, they’re such bad news!

NEVER give rawhide treats to your dogs, they’re such bad news!

Please do not buy. Throw them away if your dog gets one as a gift. Giving rawhide to a dog is never a good idea.

Many of these so called treats end up with the dog β€œenjoying” some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.

The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulfide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white β€œpure” look and remove the rancid smell.

Now comes the pretty festive colors and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

If that wasn’t bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Please be aware that I am on holiday currently until the 13th November, so I will be trying to respond to enquiries or messages where possible. I am also obviously not around to do the poo picking rounds so please be EXTRA vigilant about picking up after your dog.
I have some extremely kind regulars that are keeping an eye on things for me and collecting poo when they find it but it shouldn’t have to be that way, so make side you are watching your dogs carefully please.

Thank you! 🐾

Reminder: NO social sessions today

Unfortunately I will not be running social sessions this weekend, for either group. It is likely that they will not resume until next year now- lets see what the weather has in store!

Sadly it seems I need to once again remind the users of the dog paddock that they MUST be watching their dog/s at all times. This morning I came to do the poo picking rounds (which I shouldn’t have to do in the first place) and found that someone’s dog has been on a digging spree. The occasional small dig is understandable as there are moles out there BUT if you are watching your dog then it shouldn’t happen to the extent it did yesterday. This particular area is right by the entrance, along the fenceline the right as you walk in so there is absolutely no excuse for it. It has almost dug completely underneath the fence.
And as you can see in the picture there is a POO LEFT THERE TOO!! It just gets better and better.
I’m getting really fed up now and this kind of blatant disregard and respect for our facility is unacceptable.

**Please be advised that this message is NOT aimed at anyone in particular as I have no way of knowing who’s dog is doing what!**

Thank you to those of you that are always very considerate and careful.

Bit of a washout today…!!
If you are still coming for a session please be aware that apparently Breakspear Road South is flooded by the railway bridge and I imagine they will close it as it’s very deep.

Message me if you need to reschedule.

Thanks! β˜”οΈ
